We've got friends here for the weekend. So yesterday early afternoon when they arrived we had tea and homemade scones with cream and jam, on the decking in the sunshine. Then we went to Shibden Mill for late afternoon drinks, then back to Holmfirth and went to a rather nice cocktail bar with lovely eye candy. And after that we went for a meal at a rather nice tapas restaurant in Holmfirth. Got home around at midnight, had a night cap, then went to bed at 1am. I've now been awake since 5.30 and can't get back to sleep :Banghead:
woke up with a hangover after one dram :Wtf:. was hoping to head north for a change but gonna have to head south to pick up my bike gear, there is an up shot to this, just don't know what it is yet.
I finally got my bike back from the shop after 2 weeks, I had ordered a Ducabike slipper clutch but it does not fit on the 848 conversion due to the transmission shaft been slightly shorter than the 1098/1198 so I had to stick with Ducati performance, I also replaced the steering bearings & changed every fluid, lucky that I bought the 4 year extended warranty because it would've cost me $2500.00 but I ended up paying the deductible which was only $50.00 & as for new tires they are on order so I am close to 15K on the originals!
f.me. fugly rear 1500-2k, front 3k got a lot less before i got the 848 Michelin P.pure a mate that knows his stuff suggested suspension settings causing them to wear prematurely. just changed the 848 front and rear at 3k might of got a bit more but didnt like the sc's changed to Michelin v.good.maybe placebo but feeling a lot more confident on them not going for big run today cant be arsed. short run later once i finish what i started yesterday,
Went out on the bike for getting close to the last time this year and became extremely frustrated. Too many tractors or other agricultural machinery on narrow winding roads so very limited overtaking opportunities on the way down. My favourite local road is now covered in loose chippings for 2/3rds of the fun so had to paddle through that (along with someone on an 888 Super Sport). By time that cleared up, a truck pulled out, the 888 was past the truck and I was stuck again. Onto a main road and a 748 (?) looked like it could be up for a playmate. I was held up by traffic again. The way home also saw too many tractors or other agricultural machinery on narrow winding roads. I would have put this into a rant thread but realised it was not strong or material enough to get more than a 1 out of 10. Went for this thread instead!
I went out for a bit of a blast up to ashbourne, had a coffee did a bit of people watching, then on to buxton and the cat & fiddle and then back to base, it was great to blow cob webs off ,just got to get the flies off now.
I really don't know but they served their purpose so far & still going...hahaha! Here is a pic of the new clutch... The original tires that are still on... And the mileage as of today...
Did a little bit in the garage this morning, fitted a couple of bolts and then then managed to have a little ride out this afternoon to Shaftesbury, had the 1098 now for 2 years, loving it

Tusk Tusk..... @finm , if you start paying me too many compliments, i will have to have a referendum on my position - i may have to vote for starting to like you, and thats a very dodgy road to go down! :Shifty:
