Thanks guys,if anyone knows who 'Dave' is let me know! Originally from Box but now in the metropolis that is Melksham. Quite often like to head over to Wales or a loop down thru Exmoor...
Hi and welcome. Box boy, sorry to hijack your thread but while discussing Wiltshire I need some advice. I travel through Wiltshire 3 or 4 times a year when traveling from Northamptonshire to Cornwall. I'm happy with the A361 down to Devizes and the B3227/A388/A3072/A39 from Taunton via Bude to Newquay, but I don't much like the A361 from Devizes to Street. Any suggestions for alternative routes? Thanks in advance,
Have you thought of getting on the 303 at Andover down to Exeter? Probably quicker than across country....
I used to live in Surrey, so have used the M3/A303/A30 for many years - I don't like dual carriageways and as for motorways you might as well be in a car. I much prefer cross country routes, even if it takes a few hours longer.
Yeah, I tried the A30 a while back, not bad in places, esp. the Yarcombe/Chard/Crewkerne section. No where as good as I remembered it when going to the V-Twin rally at Shaftesbury back in the 80s.
Lol those were the days - apologies again for thread hijack op A few from Somerset on here try starting your own thread
