Only Gone And Binned My 749 :( **gore Warning**

  1. Soooo... After a long year of saving up and moving house i finally get enough money to sort out my 749s and get Donnington booked with some mates. Unfortunately for me it didnt end so well, i had a master cylinder failure at the end of the start finish straight in the 3rd session Probley doing about 130ish (geuss, but i was going flat out). The result i very horrible full depth friction burn on my knee down to the cap and one very sad looking ducati.

My lesson learned even thought i thought they were a pretty tight fit, always wear quality well fitting leathers and hat. My right knees area on my alpinestar one piece spun around on impact and the soft material on the back wasnt much protection at that speed. New agv corse did extremly well though!! All my clothes are nackered but thats what they are for. Now to save back up again to rebuild her!

  2. Shit, that's a nasty place to have an off!
The main thing is that you are in one piece - the bike can be mended!
Any clue why the brakes failed? I had a similar event at Brands where one of my pads fell out.

  8. The brakes were fully serviced before we went so defo no air in the system in the morning sessions, new pads new oil. The master cylinder has a leak we found so must have just let air in the system at just the wrong time. If you guys fancy i have lovley pics of my knee :)

  9. That's a big old crash that! Bet you feel like a gorilla tried ripping your arms off!! Hope your feeling better soon. On the positive side, the bike could have been worse? Are the forks bent? Clutch cover etc can be replaced and once all the gravel rash is cleaned out u will have a better idea what u need.

  10. ouch..........

  11. feck that gotta hurt.....strip the bike down it may not be as bad as it looks.main thing is you.gws.

  12. Seriously gutted for you. I dropped a 748 at the Melbourne loop but at least I was able to ride it home.

Watching the video (which is amazing somebody filmed you) it looks like you locked a wheel?

  15. That's a shitter, in all honesty the bike seems to have faired quite well. Looks to me like the front locked up

  16. Were the pads knocked apart from a head shake?

  17. No tank slap to knock the pads back, i went to brake and found a whole lot of nothing on the second pull probley a panic grab by that stage it just locked and smashed me into the floor. Felt alot faster than it looked.

  18. I dunno mate! Looked pretty quick!!!!! Lucky u didn't obliterate your collarbone/wrist!

  19. Who serviced the brakes?
Could the lever have been over adjusted?
