Parked my car in Car Park 31 - asked an official where I pay: reply : 1) At one of the kiosks - pointing into the distance 2) Over the phone, did you not see the boards, again pointing into the distance 3) Wait to get a fine, it's only the same price as the parking ie £27 On the basis there's no cameras, and when I returned some cars had penalty tickets ( mine didn't ) how do they trace your vehicle. Does someone physically go round writing down all registrations and then cross reference with who's paid. Confused......
I believe that a ticket can be issued for parking on private land, but they cannot chase payment at all, cannot insist on payment etc,so let them issue away, that's the info I have
Cple mugs were paying thri fines on side of the road just before silverstone this morning from one of our finest. Not sure its parking tho..
I saw that as well, if your going to speed surely there are better places than 3 miles from the biggest motorcycle event of the year?
At least it left the road clear for the rest of us and I'm sure it was John Surtees in that lovely Ferrari 360 around Bicester
I paid when i bought my tickets and got a red sticker for my window. It didn't seem obvious as to how to protect your car from a fine, nor does it seem likely that one would return to a car parked 15 minutes walk away to stick a sticker in the window if you did pay.
The ANPR camera wasn't anything to do with parking its a Police enforcement camera used to checking tax, insurance etc. I'm sure that there would be a 'data protection issue' if a private landowner were to get vehicle owner details from the Police although cant they get them from DVLA for a small fee?
I was expecting to pay the £27 to park but when I asked a girl at the entrance she told me I could pay £27 to park in the 'car park' or £10 in the field next to it!! Paid £10.. hardly anyone else in there and drove straight out without queuing at the end!!
just my humble opinion....but it would even surprise you how quickly the ambition outweighs the talent.
I'm sure its possible for them to create their own fine recovery data base and drive around searching for the vehicles.....but it wouldn't be associated with the cameras you are referring to nor the data bases they have access to.
did you have to pay to park there ???? drove in and drove out nobody asked for any money on either Sunday or Saturday ?? there was nothing included with the tickets that said anything about parking charges or is there some fine print that I missed
I didn't pay to park? It was free for motorcycles in car park 49 & 50. Only paid to leave leathers, boots & lid, which cost me £5 total. And was for charity.
I got a parking ticket, so do i pay now at £27 or after 2 weeks its £47, all that was on the ticket was my reg number. Me, Mrs roadtrip and my son all went, so thats £90 each so £270 is not enough for Silverstone, i stopped going to the bike show at the NEC because parking there is about £15. The only way to deal with things like this is that everyone should stop going in protest but as we all know in England this will never happen unlike in France.
