I have not seen their accounts so I dont know what their profit margin is, if you have the figures it would be interesting to see their turnover, gross profit and net profit . Possibly incorrectly I assume their margins are not high but their turnover is enormous. I cant speak for anyone else but where I live near the herts/beds borders there are discounters, farm shops, markets, independents plus the internet of course so if I can be bothered I can avoid the supermarkets, spend less and get better local food from friendly people.
The Germans have got it completey right again.I will bet that the likes of Tes** and Morri***ns and Sains***y have taken their eye of the goal due to being complacent.Give it a few years and the opposite may happen. These players where been accused of the death of the local shops and now they are are struggling.
It always amazes me when people have a pop at companies doing so well, especially when their pension is relying on these companies to make profits and pay into their slush fund!
"No, of course not Bond" says M " we use the vastly more modern, hunter-killer stealth Arquebus........!"
It's the customers that think they can use them and don't have a clue Come see me I will show you how to use one properly
i will take you up on that. i find kicking it on the way past as i leave the premises with my free supplies quite easy, :Angelic:
Yes. Line-caught as well so dolphin friendly. I don't like Tescos one bit. Even less so since hearing that Tony Blair has a financial interest in the company. I'd prefer to starve than line his pockets. On the other hand I won't turn down a Tesco petrol station at 6:00 on a Sunday evening when the fuel light's been on for twenty miles.
I'm sure Mr Tesco billions of profit contribute immensely.. fact is they could of still made 1 billion pound profit and not screwed the other 2.3 billion out of the paying public by charging around 2/3rds less. Still not like you to let the insignificant percentage interfere with a good strut around.
