AirCon, have you got the Ohlins SCU upgrade on your 2010.........that changes things a lot when comparing the Ohlins suspension with Skyhook bikes - there's been some good feedback on the Ohlins SCU vs Skyhook somewhere, just can't find it now! doh!
Hyperbole.....my word of the Month (Sept). When I speed read the page I thought Ducati had brought out a new model to counter the threat from the SuperDuke.
OK....I've made two generous offers :Sorry: to owners of Skyhooks Touring (lets hope both don't say yes:Nailbiting. One is in perfect condition the other is not. One common problem appears to be the centre stand rubber (£2.38+VAT). They seem to melt away, allowing the centre stand to rise and clang about. Is this common? On another matter since the engines, ECU etc are the same on the Diavel....why didn't they fit the nice colour speedo/clocks....has any tried plugging one in? :Shifty:
"One common problem appears to be the centre stand rubber (£2.38+VAT). They seem to melt away, allowing the centre stand to rise and clang about. Is this common?" Yes I keep a couple of spares in the garage and change out when necessary, the stand will still clang a bit on rough roads even with a new rubber fitted.
Reminds me of a girl I knew from University.
Well one seller turned me down, pity a relatively small gap in the funds offered, but not my favourite colour; so perhaps that was meant to be. Now I'm getting all fidgety about a Pikes Peak, but SWMBO is giving me a hard time about getting rid of a few vehicles n engines....Women! I've pointed out her new kitchen has a 4.5m x 4.5m square in the middle with nothing...but air. If we moved a wall I could make could use of that in my man cave. WORSE than that she still wants to retain the door from the kitchen (AKA woman cave) to the coach house (AKA man cave). I want to make the wall thicker...not a door FFS.
On my bike, the centre stand rubber doesn't seem to line up very well with the bracket on the bottom of the cat. I've tried various attempts at fixing the problem, with no permanent solution as yet. This is a common problem, see the Ever smelt burning rubber from your Multistrada? thread.
My rubber has burnt away, or just pulverised, and the bracket on the cat flattened. 2013 S Touring. Kevin
Went through this decision process but decided that the quality of the Öhlins outweighed the Skyhook/Twin plug benefits. Difference was marginal (given that I'd completely customised the setup to suit me). Then I added the new Öhlins SCU and feel that I've got the best of both worlds without spending the difference on a new bike. Well it looks like I may be the owner of a silver skyhook touring model, as we appear to be getting closer to a deal. This a brain decision, not a heart one. I really dislike that colour, as a ducati should be red IMHO. And that raised stick on lettering... yuck.
You've got it all so wrong Paul.........Ducati's should be all about the heart and not the brain! :-O
I just bought a used 2013 PP, with 6000 miles on it and coming off a 2010 S was worried that the skyhook wouldn't be as good as the Ohlins. After 600 miles I'm very happy with it. It feels more planted in the turns and seems to turn in quicker. I will not have to change springs, like I did on the 2010. The motor is smoother and a little quicker. Also love the LED lights and the emergency flasher. It came with a mid pipe and MIVV can and also the Tuneboy set up. I like the sound of the MIVV better than the Termi.
I have a GT and tend to ride with them on most of the time. after being pulled out on several times when I had my R1 and knocked off on one occasion, I can say (touch wood) not a single car has pulled out on me with the mutly and I've now done 2k more than I did on my R1. I'd rather look "poncy" than like this again
