Why would you want to put a ducabike slipper clutch in when the conversion comes with one anyway? If I remember correctly, unless you have one of the early ones which had a specific basket the updated one could take a 1098 basket
saw him at the Cirencester Corn Hall a few years back. Good show, albeit it felt a bit like we were at a sixth form disco, given the lighting, and drinks served from the 'hatch', and the chairs stacked all around the hall. I presumed they did not think Midge Ure fans would start chucking chairs...... one or two were 'moved at speed' across the floor.... dance partners, if you will!
We'll this evening I was tracking a Kreiga US20 tail pack on eBay. Though it was being sold as "used" it was actually brand new as the seller had bought it then sold his bike a few weeks later without having used it (allegedly). Anyway these things are £75 brand new so I thought that if I could get it for about £65 including delivery then that would be a bargain. With 15 minutes left on the auction the tail pack stood at £36, so I was in a good position. Or so I thought! With 5 minutes to go it jumped to £71 plus £6.95 postage! Then in the dying seconds some numpty bid (and won) at £81 plus £6.95 p&p!! £12.95 more than if you bought one new directly from Kreiga or one of their dealers. Why are people so fucking stupid when it comes to eBay?
Today after much thought and having secured another job offer, I handed in my notice. Do any of the more knowledgable know how I stand with regards to the return of my company car. Am I entitled to keep it to the end of my notice period despite the fact that my boss does not wish me to work out my notice, but will pay me to the end of my months notice. Thanks
I queued up in the job centre today, waiting patiently for my turn. When I got to the front of the queue, I said to the advisor, "Are there any fashion shops advertising jobs at the moment?" He replied, "Next." I said, "Feck off, it's still my turn."
You should be able to keep your benefits - car/pension payments/health care etc until you officially leave. Of course, they could come to an agreement to pay you an ex-gratia amount to give the car back early, but in reality, would it save them anything considerable?
Thanks for that, it's what I thought but wasn't sure. I am happy to return all company property immediately as requested, but was not prepared to return the car at the same time tomorrow as he appeared to be requesting.
I am staying within the industry, but not going to a direct competitor. I was not surprised at being asked to return all my company property today, as I had seen this happen twice with the last two reps that have left recently. However I will not be returning the company vehicle until the end of my notice period unless I have it confirmed to me it is a legal requirement. I will check this with acas this morning. Not looking forward to the general unpleasantness that will undoubtedly await me when I return my stuff this morning.
However on the plus side, I do have another position that I have accepted which pays more, but does not carry a target,so considerably less stressful. I'm also off to Almeria next week on a track day, so that will be something to take away the stress of a job change.
Whipped off the top fairing to get at the mesh ram air guards to paint them black. Knowing that the bike had been down the road (by the previous owner) just thought a little investigation wouldn't go a miss. Couple of screws missing (on the bike) but other than that looks ok. Glad I took the time ;-)
Ran 10 miles this morning, went for an hour on the Triumph as the weather was good and did a little studying for this year's OU module. Now I'm playing with my children and drinking some gold top milk. It's better than any luxury you can treat yourself to
