Hi all First road bike in 13 years (was an R6 last time), and first Ducati. Been dirt biking in recent years but fancied a winter project. Going to spruce up and make some bespoke parts for a 1300 quid 900ss and see if I get the Ducat bug. Already enjoying the space between the parts and the simplicity of this model. Rich
Hi, good choice for an intro to Ducati's. The older I get the more I like the older, simpler models - bit like myself! Not sure whether I'd want to buy an 1199 or Diavel in 20yrs time, even though I love the looks - full of sensors and computers . . .
Got the engine out in two hours last night. What is all this reputation for shoddy Italian quality about? it all came apart easily, no fiddly bits, no perished components, no sheered bolts anywhere, well maybe one on the radiator mount. And a signature under the tank. Seems this model was designed AND made with love.
