I just can't get the image of all the abandoned kettles and vacuums out of my mind. I know I shouldn't when all the worry is in the middle east and ukraine. But OMG those poor fucking kettles. Damn the EU. Bastards!
The worry isn't in the Ukraine. It's just flavour of the media month. After all, who really cares? How much difference is it going to make to your life? The West invaded the Russian's sphere of influence - the US would have reacted exactly in the same way (except that their perceived sphere of influence is almost the entire world) As for the Middle East, what's the answer? You have to choose between corrupt torturing dictators, or beheading torturing jihadis. Frankly, there isn't a side to back. May just as well worry about the kettles. At least it's something that something can be done about.
If people want electric cars we will need to slow down power consumption elsewhere, as currently the infrastructure can't meet demand, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. I suspect the rise in sales of electric cars (they are rapidly becoming a common sight) has caught the authorities with their pants down.
No problem. We'll just burn more coal to generate the electricity to power the "zero emissions" cars, like the rest of the world does.
That's pretty much the size of it. For the foreseeable future drivers of all vehicles must "choose their poison" sadly many of the coal and oil fired power stations are being closed
Precisely. Or we can obliterate the landscape in wind turbines and run the cars on the power produced by the diesel generators which are required to back them up. May as well put the diesel in the cars in the first place and avoid all that pointless carbon-heavy infrastructure. More motorcycles, that's the answer.
Environmentally though, where shall we build the 'kettle lake'. Oh hang on , we've got some spare land north of england......
