  2. If it's any consolation this forum is pretty tame compared to the supermoto area on the ktm forum...

  3. The C word should only be used if F....ing is in front of it. Plain English is always best.

  4. I'm not going to ban swearing

  5. If you use the search function matt, you get 139 focused and specific results-happy to help! Have a good afternoon!

  6. Are you trying to say that you might edit 'c##t' but not 'prick', Matt? So is there any rational basis for discriminating in that way? Because I can't think of one.

  8. I know we've discussed this before, in person as well as online. Its down to the level of offence caused on the whole. The C word still carries more weight than any derivative of prick and as a result will always get edited if I see it.
    Sorry

  9. Really? So if have you ever had sex with your wife, you have avoided talking to her about what you were doing? Or do you mean you prefer to use Greek and Latin words instead of Anglo-Saxon ones? In your opinion, are words like 'penis' and vagina' acceptable, or not? I'm just asking because I find your views as expressed in the OP utterly incomprehensible and absurd, and I would like gain at least an inkling.

  10. Although I see your point (all words are just words so why allow some and not others) surely there are various degrees of swearing @Pete1950? Just as swear words are identified as different to the rest of the English language (defined as swear words) so words like knob, plonker, prick etc have a different place in people's minds to c**t, fuck and twatfacedc**tyfuck. Most (although evidently not all) find the c-word less acceptable and if @mattmccabebrown chooses that as a cut-off that's up to him. I'd certainly rather he was moderating than some others who don't seem to have a sensible and balanced view.

    P. S. The autocorrect on my phone made this post INCREDIBLY hard to write!

    Edit : before @mattmccabebrown does!

  11. As previously mentioned its just the word, not what it represents, or its actual meaning. Penis and vagina are fine and the only form of censorship on the Ducati Forum is for the use of the C word, abuse and the use of racist terms
Those who know me, know I swear like a trooper, but I have to try and keep this place in a condition that is acceptable to most, if not all.

  12. Asking the question, "Why are some sexual swear words less acceptable than others?" is not a lot different from the question, "Why do some people believe in a god?".

Mysticism is at the heart of it. Some swear words hold a certain power which entirely evaporates when a truly rational person considers the matter more deeply.

Swear words are "offensive" because people find them offensive. To deny this is irrational, because people clearly are offended. No point denying that things that happen don't happen.

  19. Just wondering who (if any) will downvote/dislike or, even worse, edit my post due to use of the word c##t?
