  1. Enquired about extending the warranty on the bike, you used to have to do it before the bike was 18 months old. But I have just been told by my dealer that Ducati have extended this period to 23 months, good news that.

  2. how much is it from ducati? do you know?

  3. I was quoted £280.00 for another 12 months warranty, pretty sure you do not get break down cover thou.

  4. i've just gone ahead with the 3rd party warranty company - £221 for 15 months of cover.

ive been quoted £400 for 1 year ducati warranty extension by Metropolis who become my local ducati dealer after West london Ducati closed down. i think metropolis just make numbers up as they were quoting me double compare to everyone else for annual service earlier on this year as well

  5. John, I'd advise to get it in as soon as possible as it'll be worth it's weight in gold whether you keep it past two years or pass it on privately. I posted on this a while ago. I was told 23 months too and the dealer was sure in this however The paperwork itself states a qualifying bike is one less than 6 months old purchased within the last 24 months - in short, the paperwork is at odds with itself and the advice of the dealer.

It's entirely at Ducati's discretion and they can pull the scheme at any time prior to purchase in any event or decide whether or not to extend your particular bike as KTM did a couple of years ago. In doing so KTM left many high and dry when they expected to be able to buy an additional 2 years within a period of 2 years (as was advertised at the time of purchase).

Right enough the whole process was treated in a very informal manner when I purchased mine for the 1199 but my advice would be to get it sooner rather than later primarily because of the discretionary nature of the scheme.

  6. Sorry, it was £285 for 12 months. Same conditions as manufacturers warranty but no break down / recovery etc.

  7. Sounds about right.

  8. Get the warranty - it will save you a lot of money in the long run - believe me!!

  9. I just extended mine for 1yr with Ducati yesterday £280.50 but as mentioned above you lose the recovery piece.
