and following on from ET's thread .... .... what's the SHORTEST time you've ever had a bike out on a test ride? And why? And who was the dealer? And what was the bike? And did you eventually buy the bike?
Already replied in other thread. 1100 hyper. Did about 5 mins and hated it. Bought a 1100 monster to replace a 696. 1199 was my second test ride did about 6 miles. Purchased it there and then. 899 had for 2 hours on same day before 1199. Didn't buy it as above.
stroked the seat. that was enough D.G. fugly yip. took me twice as long with the 848, i am so indecisive.
Bought my 1198 without seeing it. Was looking for a 1098S when this came up for the same money but brand new. I had to spend the money quick before it disappeared into new carpets or something similar.
Good work! I'm in the same boat, Doris has already got her eye on a new massive fat yank freezer, (this is just for the two of us) the old on is "knackered" because it has a broken self! Carpets and fireplace next! Sorry - thread diversion.... Don't think I've ever test ridden a bike...I buy them if they look nice... Much like Doris!
The question wasn't 'what bike have you bought without test riding' it was 'whats the shortest test ride' Keep up people
30 seconds. Can't even remember what bike it was, beyond it was so horrid to ride I got to the roundabout at the end of the road and came straight back.
In which case I have the shortest shag ever with Kylie Minogue and the shortest marriage to Kelly Brook
My shortest were two I have done with Riders of Bridgwater. This seems to be their standard test-ride route Bath Rd/A39 to Riders of Bridgwater - Google Maps 5 miles there and 5 miles back - and you have to be accompanied by one of their staff, sign their paperwork, leave your credit card details as a deposit and present a driving license which says "well behaved". I haven't bothered since.
I didn't have a test ride on my ZX636R, ZX10R, Fireblade RR4, GSXR1000K6 nor my R1. If you've ridden one JIL4 you've ridden them all
Only had 2, one with Ducati Glasgow was the shortest at their Green Welly day out on an 848 evo. Its an accompanied ride out with their staff and other riders. Very sedate and no rule breaking allowed. It lasts about 45 minutes all in. Saw one poor boy bin a M696 at the exit(£1000 excess on their insurance apparently) Ouch......
cossack 650 and sidecar,,approx 6 mins. sat on it,did the sideways kickstart thing, sat down, crunched into gear and let clutch out ,shot across the road and ended up in sellers neighbours garden dead opposite from where id started. climbed off it,got in car ,went home, seller didnt say a word the whole time :Hilarious: have never forgotten it and never will
YZF750R, twenty minutes. I didn't enjoy it at first but wasn't sure. I couldn't afford it anyway so I decided not risk a change of heart
5 to 10 mins, 899 Panigale, started to piddle down with rain so just took it back to dealer. Still to have another go. p.s. bought my first Hypermotard (796) sans test ride.
