1200 Tank Range

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by psalliss, Sep 12, 2014.

  1. Is about 170 miles on the motorway between 80-90 about right for a tank?

  2. Sounds right?

  3. Cool thanks. Hadn't been on motorway much on it before so wasn't sure

  4. yes that's about right, should squeeze to near 200 if you say at 60-70 - zezzus that would be boring!

and down to 100 - 110 miles if you start going over 110 and into 130 territory - much more interesting but difficult to do often enough to get through a whole tank...

    bugs

  5. Does anyone know what the tank range is with a non-standard exhaust and tune? Or the Termi system fitted?

  6. Should be better because the lower rev band running improvement allows you to be in a lower gear earlier. Typically without going to licence losing speeds or hard acceleration, I've seen about a 7mpg improvement. Andy

  7. I average 130 miles, full termi, CJS mapping, round the back lanes of Norfolk, I do enjoy the brisk acceleration of the MTS mind ;) adding to that my bike is new and only done 1900 miles and was told the mpg would increase

  8. Barrycg, was that you filling up at a Murco station in Lenwade very very recently?

  9. Bog standard bike sees me get best 140 miles till the light comes on, at that point it seems I have approx 4-5 litres left.

  10. I don't think so , but I do ride the B1145 quite a bit as its near my house just out of kings lynn

  11. I have a full Termi system on my 2010. Yesterday I did a 298 mile run, filling up at 110 miles and doing the last leg to home on the same tankful - 188 miles. According to the fuel remaining I still had 7 miles worth left, giving 197 miles to the tankful. But it also said I was getting 50.2mpg, so in theory there should have been a bit more than that but I wouldn't like to chance it. Mind you for the last 50 miles the miles to empty varied between 47 miles and 21 miles at various stages depending on how hard I had been accelerating, or not, at the time  What I am sure of is that I can get at least 50 miles from when the light comes on.

  12. :) I tend to work on the basis of a rough average of circa 10 miles per litre, so on 20 litres about 200 miles!
Seems pretty consistent to me even when riding the Mutley 'briskly' officer......

  13. That works for me too Tony :)

  14. See 1200 - Mpg - Details | Ducati Forum
I managed 104 miles on 97RON, full to vapours (Not the turning Japanese type); clock showed ZERO Miles range left.
SO that's 23.6Mpg or a range of 104 Miles....I don't think you can get worse than this unless you are on the track.
Typically mine shows 38.5Mpg, so +170 Miles to the tank.
    Assuming a 20 litre tank.

  15. I get 170 to 180 to a full tank. Standard Sport T. Most of time kept in Sport mode unless Doris on the back :Nailbiting:

  16. 2011 MTS Touring here. Completely Std. Bike reads 220 from full. I cam back from IOM recently and got 170 before the light came on at a steady 85 (I mean 70)

  17. Hi, on my Multi GT I get 200 miles with approx litre left in tank , but if riding hard the warning light comes on at around 135 miles. If you then ride sensibly I easily get 185 miles I don't think that's too bad especially as I ride two up mostly

  18. These are actual results (Fuelly) as the onboard reading flatters the MPG. This is my 2010 with MIVV decat and Suono tail pipe. I am looking to fill up at 140-150 so not very good really.

I've used a 2013 GT on a long 2,000 mile tour and was getting much better range and probably 45-48mpg.

  19. i always seem to be filling up !
