Not in the slightest. My other half and I occasionally go out for a ride together, her with the L plates and me toddling along. Originally I accompanied her on my zzr but that seemed faintly silly so I bought a second for me for the huge sum of £100 - just over two years old. As fun bikes for minimum expense I wouldn't fault them - the pair owe us nothing already. It's also amazing how much 'tuning' clobber is available! There's a silly idea at present of a 320 mile round trip next weekend on them to Lincolnshire (not Cadwell!!!) to see friends, but without using motorways due to the L plates!
Somehow I dont think lack of alcohol is the problem! gunna get a mates son who's a wiz with camera to do a lil photo shoot before it slowly becomes not so clean.. Bit self indulgent maybe but its only gunna be this tidy for so long so will be nice to look back on some good pics.. will post em up
Like your style mate! Life's about having fun and great amusement can be had with any thing with two wheels and an engine. Recently borrowed my ex's 50cc vclik to commute 10 miles to work as it was £16.00 a day parking in the van. Done the de-restricting thing when she bought it but it max's out at 42mph... Still laughed like fvk every ride though. (kept giving bikers the nod but they largely ignored me!) And i know for a fact i can blitz an R1 round yedding tesco's car park...
I find that the Chinese 125s give me as much fun as most. I've got three other decent sized bikes but there's something amusing about wringing a unsuitable bike out down a country road. Mine now has had a few tweaks done too - I'm not sure why I'm obsessed with extracting every last milli-bhp out of it when I've got an 1198, zzr1100 and Monster in the garage, but It mAkes me laugh!
I'd guess that I've spent less on buying, tuning (including the much needed replacement engine), taxing, servicing and replacing the tyres on my heapy hack than the two year service will cost on my 1198 - and I don't ground the footrests on that around the roundabouts in the industrial estate, and on 'Manlung' tyres too!
reminds me of putting retreaded worn out tires offa my mk2 cortina on to my mates capri (with a 302 windsor in it) for a bit of side ways action (before they called it drifting) ahhh the good ole days
Well, they both passed! Admittedly the 'spare' bike (negative frame now) which I have for spares is a left fork, rear wheel and speedo drive hub lighter, but there you go!
