Where Do I Stand ??

  1. Recently bought pair of Interphones 4's from Ghost Bikes in Preston.

Bought when ordered my new bike so was 4 weeks between buying and first using.

While riding one of the interphones kept changing mode and I was unable to turn it off.
While sat in the kitchen it would turn on and go into various modes, again unable to turn off until it went flat.

I contacted Ghost bikes and they insisted i return ALL the items from the set, everything, velcro the lot !!.
After a log argument I stripped out the units, causing some damage to the helmets in doing so and returned.

They have tested and said nothing wrong, but now say they cant get the velcro, mounts etc which cant be reused. Said I can go buy my own and offered me £3.00 to do so !!!

    They refuse to
    1) Make the set complete to allow me to refit
    2) Replace the set
    3) Give me a refund

When I asked to speak to a supervisor they just hung up on me.

Legally where do people think I stand ??
My first thought was trading standards but has anyone any thoughts ??

    Thanks Gary

  2. This seems to have gone down hill fast. If it is really as you have started then I would expect Ghost bikes to become like their name pretty quick. If as they say there is nothing wrong, then as they insisted you return EVERYTHING, so the kit should be returned to you the same.

  3. Unfortunately you have given no indication what was the total price you paid for the set, nor have you indicated whether Ghost are willing to return the set (which they allege is working OK) to you, or refusing to do so. If you want to bring a claim against them, you will need first need to make up your mind how much you are out of pocket, bearing in mind you would need to prove the amount, and then decide whether it is worth pursuing. Or not.

  4. If I read this correctly, you are pissed and with good reason, however, we are talking about £3 worth of velcro, move on slag them off at every opportunity but don't waste any more of your time on them. Make sure you tell Interphone about the service you have received and your disappointment that one of their resellers are providing such poor customer service.

There are plenty of other suppliers

  5. Hi folks

Paid £239 for a dual set.

No issue getting the product back of them, not refusing to return. they are refusing to replace the consumable items which they insist I returned when I stripped.

I could maybe go buy some tape and velcro from somewhere but they agreed to replace the items when I returned.
Maybe its just more trouble than its worth, i just think, 1) its was stupid for them to insist to strip everything out and is just out of order for them to refuse to then make a good set up again.

Beginning to think this is just going to be too much like hard work

Whatever happened to good customer service !!

  6. So you want to quarrel with them about £3 worth of Velcro, do you. Good luck with that!

  8. Why don't they go and get the Velcro and return it with the rest of the kit, problem solved, but seems they have made a mountain out of a molehill.

  9. It sounds more principal of the thing. However, more arseache than its worth.

  10. Email Interphone, explain the situation, they will probably send you the Velcro, as a goodwill gesture, while marking Ghost's card. You might also ask them if they have any ideas about why the kit was misbehaving

  11. It might only be three quids worth of velcro, which they've offered to pay for, but I'd be pissed off too! Did they really need the velcro back? And sending the kit back incomplete is not acceptable, that's piss poor customer service. If they'd bothered to buy the velcro themselves and sent it back they'd have avoided this, instead they passed the problem on to the customer! Cheers for the warning.

  12. Not fit for purpose, get your money back.

  13. No he's not. He's pissed off - not the same thing at all.
Stop bringing this Septic way of talking on to a perfectly good British forum, what?!

Strangely, even the Yanks are beginning to say "pissed off" when before they would only say "pissed". So there is progress to transatlantic understanding.

You've got to be pedantic about these things. The US is totally engulfing our culture [said with a pointless rising intonation].

  14. Are they bollocks, never will - they are second class Brits and can only aspire, but never quite realise to be like what we are what... :D
