Due to unforseen circumstances I have had to sell my 1098S and step back from bikes for... I don't know, hopefully not indefinetly. I was wondering, what price should I be asking for the end cans that come with the 1098S? They are brand new and only did a few miles in their life time. Got the ECU and the original filter. Which again has only done a few miles. Full termi system was put on the bike from new. Remember, the end cans on a 1098S were titanium, not ally like the normal 1098. Cheers, hope everyone is well.
Split them n sell the ecu separately, as the ecu will fetch more on its own for people to flash DP maps onto. I don't think people will actually appreciate the s can being ti, people only buy stock cans for mot's or to sell the bike.
Thought the original ECU is not fully mappable? Only the first several thousand revs. Shall I just stick it all onto ebay starting at 99p? Seperatly?
Nah the ecu can be turned into any spec ecu for any model of bike using the IAW 5AM, that's why they can fetch reasonable money. Personally I'd start higher or stick a reserve on them just in case..... Have you got any idea what you need them to fetch?
I never knew the 1098S cans were titanium, I didnt feel any diffrence in weight but i'll weight some now!
I genuinly have no idea, so could be mugged off haha. I imagine the filter wouldn't go for more than a 10er. Pipes... Maybe £150? And the ECU? Not a clue!
Maybe start bidding at around £90 then? ECU start bid at £95 and the filter... £0.99 lol. Will post tonight. Either way, make some money.
Everything will sell.......at the right price. If the price is too high or the timing is wrong and it won't, same as everything everywhere really!
Keep us informed please as mine are just sat in the loft gathering dust. Was that £120 for both cans or each? Send me a PM when you sell them incase I miss your post. Thanks for that Steve
Oh Nog just when I thought I was going to make a killing out of the bits in the loft. Bits being fitted today pics to follow Regards Steve
I'm not sure which way around you're trying to do this Chris. Are you selling the bike WITH race system on and the stock pipes separately? I would recommend you put all the stock bits back on the bike and sell the 'special' components separately.
