Where's it all going to end? In five years time are we going to have a 1599 with 300bhp that weighs a 100kg that's completely unridable unless you've got skin tight undies or a death wish!
The give-away is probably that it's a picture of a Panigale, has Panigale written down the side, and looks like a Panigale?
1199 - New Model 1199 For 2015 | Ducati Forum I knew they would do a slight tweak. 1199 is still a good bike so no need to panic as its just same as what happened with the 1098/1198. Will this be a replacement for all the specs or just the "R" version? Can they race it at 1299 cc? Next question , has anyone ridden a 1199 and wished for another 100cc?
I think it will be a good chance to put all the little things right that customers have complained about, or that have been coming back as problems, as well as giving it a little CC boost to mark it as different, just like the 1098/1198 as above. I'm not sure whether the picture shows "PANIGALE S" or "PANIGALE R" as it's difficult to make out, but I think it's "S" and there's no carbon or magnesium that I can see to indicate an R.
My dealer had suggested that the new motor would have variable valve timing.! Which could be a way of increasing midrange effectively
If someone would of said 10 years ago we would have a 195hp /sub200kg vtwin that has the tech of a 1199 for £16k i wouldnt of belived it. So a 250hp bike within the next 10 years isnt out of the way , maybe 300 is a bit far.
My 1198 makes more than enough power. Mind you thats not preventing me taking it to CJS once my headers arrive back from Camcoat to release a few more ponies. Question, Can I ask CJS to tune it for torque rather than HP? I'm not bothered about top end. I like grunt.
Well Ducati have announced the current 848 Streetfighter is being discontinued, so I fully expect an earlier naked version of something at either Milan or next years Intermot
Looks like the rumours about a New Panigale for 2015 were correct. There is a 1299 model due for release for 2015, be at the trade shows shortly. Possibly a 1299R version only thou.
Good. Having recently purchased an 1199 and getting to grips with it I was beginning to think I could really do with another 100cc for the road.
