I promised myself id not modify this 1199 past a tail tidy/plate this year and a set of termis next year. Well i couldnt resist any longer and since winter is creeping up just ordered a set from @nelly cornerspeed. It cant get much louder (can it?), but itd be great if they had a deeper sound to them. Then i promise thats it. No more mods. Honest.
Yep no more mods. Until you see these to go on the termis... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221547663666
Did the same myself - promised no more mods then promptly fitted Termi end cans  Not actually any louder than stock, which is good, but deeper sound and the odd pop on overrun. Love it. Plus weigh about 100kg less Ok, that may be an exaggeration but they are a lot lighter.
I really don't like the exhaust Valve that why I went for the full System. Did they quote you a massive rise in yr premium ?
Because it gets manky ! from the dirty kicked up at it by the back wheel. I disconnected the flapper Valve the day I bought it
When mine were fitted (899)the servo motor and cables were removed leaving the flapper in the open position all the time.
when you disconnect the exhaust valve cables the valve auto goes to fully open that's with cans as well, as info supplied to me by nelly , and hes right as usuall,
The flapper is to keep the noise down at lower revs,it obviously blocks the exhaust gas flow, then it opens up as the revs increase and it will throw a warning light if its disconnected, lots of to disconnect it without a warning light, whttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-Panigale-899-Exhaust-Servo-Eliminator-Vizi-tec-DUCEE-/281321845558ays
The exhaust valve partially closes at a particular rpm that coincides with the speed/rpm of the type approval tests for noise. It's around 4k rpm iirc. The rest of the time it's wide open. The Termi kit does away with the motor and cable assembly. The new software in the UPMAP has the error detection turned off.
