Looking at buying some wheels - the seller says they are 17" but I have my doubts. They have Pirelli Superbike Slicks on them @ 190/55 R420 on the rear tyre, 120/74 R420 on the front Anyone know? Any help much appreciated!
Bugger - I asked him specifically and he told me the wheels were 17" !!! He's selling on Ebay and doesn't state any sizes, he can't be that daft as he bought the wheels himself and only did one track day with them. Unless he's just measured from the top of the rim, but that would give about 17.5"
Am I right in thinking it's the 420 that says it's 16.5"? The rear fitted to the wheel is 190/55 R420
Thanks, that's what I thought when I converted it, so asked the seller and he said they were 17" wheels. That's saved the expense and hassle of buying and returning, probably loosing postage too... Thanks andyb & FE :Happy:
nothing wrong with 16.5 for the track as wheels.......there are still plenty of new slicks to be had......but as web etc have gone to 17 there are plenty of 16.5 up for sale locally....or certainly uk.
Esensially it is a track bike I'm building but it will be on the road as I want to take it on tour to the IOM too. Pitty as the wheels were Marvic Magnesium 5 spokes - just the type of wheel I was looking for
