agree wi sissy he has never been aggresive to anyone on here , you jump on everyones post bradders and think your always right, now you've got the balls to call people out, do ur self a favour mate and back out of this one , our typing skills are not perfect ha ha as u can see, sissy meant a system not a can and all this kicked off because of this, and we say what we think which is fine for everyone to do, weve never said we think were bayliss or that standard , unlike you who is a top level club racer , or thinks that, and like he says what you see on here we are exactly the same face to face no web warrior here ,anyway lets hope this is put to bed and we can use the site as intended , for info on ducatis and a bit if fun talk, which is what biking is meant to be about ,,,
I'm expecting what WTK think (we tune Kawasaki's) , somewhere around lots, but will deffo dyno it and then not tell you, but the least I will say is that it is as expected - so you have all that to look forward to.
ahh suspense I cant take anymore, I bet you post the info on other web sites tho, I still recon its went tits up and the lids being kept on it ,
is this mga? if so good news its still in one piece but come on put us out our misery bhp fig please :Banghead:
All this grief for a few numbers............. Enjoy it Carl. I doubt the HP figure is relevant anyway. I'd hope that the work that Wilf did was to make it usable as a track machine. I'd want a nice smooth torque curve and I'd not be worried too much about top end....surely its going to be quick enough up there anyway?! I've never understood all the BHP willy waving anyway. We're not 12 years old and the most powerful doesnt mean the best unless its all usable......and 95% of the time top whack isn't!
wouldn't say its grief would just say a lot of people are interested to see what if ant all the engine work has done to a std superleggera ,
Who gives a stuff about HP. It's only good in a straight line 90%+ of the time and almost anybody can ride a bike fast in a straight line. Fair play to Carl, it's his baby, his decisions, his money and he certainly does not have to justify anything to anyone on this forum... Glad to hear it's on the way back to the warmth. If you're at Yas on Friday, come and say hi. I'll be there (If I ever get out of China..). Hopefully you'll get in on the track for the next one 19th Dec.
I appreciate people are interested. I am also pleased to see some comments referring to the irrelevance of HP figures - after all, this project has never been about power - it's been about building a 20+ year dream and sharing it with fellow enthusiasts who are interested; the engine work was added at the eleventh hour. Let us not forget that the SL engine was powerful and well built in the first place; I would say the bits we have done have simply refined the motor and allowed it to spin up quicker. Certain aspects of the engine build have been awesome in terms of what Baz achieved with the crank balance tolerances and the compression readings - simply first class workmanship. This will come as a surprise to some but I have not asked for or received the dyno data/graph; I respect and believe what MR have told me on the power figures and I believe them - if Mr M sends me a note when he was on the dyno saying "the way this thing is spinning up on the dyno I think we may have gone a bit to far...." - that tells me all I need to know! I am after something that is useable and with the mapping done, this will be so. Also, please bare in mind I have not ridden the bike yet and after my first ride I will know. I have three maps, each with varying degrees of when the power comes in; will I be able to use it - yes - it is my wrist that turns the throttle; will I be able to use it to its full potential - No! I am not a WSBK racer; I will go out and ride safely and to the best of my ability and enjoy learning to become better on it each trip. I will state now I believe the bike will be more user friendly than my R and will report back if I'm right. Ultimately, I just wanted to build something special, have been blessed to have done it with the SL and even more blessed Steve agreed to do the build for me. I have enjoyed sharing the build with you - despite a few stupid pages contained herein (sometimes I have to disappear) - and I would like to continue sharing the experience of the ride and ownership going forward. Please allow me to do so.
I can't remember now if we have seen photos of the completed bike in its new paint. If not, it would be nice to see them. If we have, I'm sorry i don't remember them.
Carl thats a response I had hope you'd say tbh. Now I hope that all those who demanded BHP figures/ diagrams etc will now shut the Fcuk up.!.
Calm down! We were only interested in the thread. What's wrong with that? Take it as a positive sign that we just wanted the story ending.
In response to arthur.... reason crank was re-balanced was due to changing the pistons and knowing the tolerances corse advised, MR have done an outstanding job. Concerning pics - it was always my intention to post high quality pics and vid when bike was returned to me; so assuming bike here with me by next weekend I should have some; if timings/customs allow, I might even get it out on track 10th Oct; if not then 24th.
