Hi guys new to the forum . about to do a deal on a 800 mile 899 panigale. Looking for info on best mods to do for performance braking handling etc im a nightmare as i cant leave anything standard . i currently own a fairly modified 2010 zx6r 123rwhp but want to upgrade . i tried an 1199s but found it too harsh on tbe road but loved the 899 i do do trackdays too so hoping its good there too !
Hi fella, I've so far had the suspension setup, termignoni's and up map performance wise. Aesthetically, tail tidy (essential as the stock looks like it was designed by a retard) small led indicators, carbon front fender, dp seat, stubby levers. Just waiting to see what Santa brings next. Good choice of bike, welcome to the forum. Expect to get called dave.
Haha why dave? Its got the seat cowel with it and the dealer has said if i do buy it theyll do the termis up map and air filter at cost price so thats a definate. Yer tail tidy is planned too as you could advertise on the standard one lol
Well im riding it back2back tomorrow with the 1199s which i rode last month i thought it was too harsh for the road then remembered it was in race mode ... Not good on bumpy roads but in all honesty i think i prefer the 899 i always prefered my 6 over 1000s as its so easy to chuck about and on the road i keep with a few mates on their bigger bikes and on track usually beat them so the 899 is prob the perfect upgrade
The 1199 is easier to chuck around than my girlfriends GSX-R600, but it is a bit of a wild child at times. Definately check the sport mode for bumpy roads though because it makes a huge difference. I first discovered how bad it was on the bumpy part of the isle of man TT course and honestly thought I had a puncture or something until I turned from Race to Sport mode.
Congrats on the new purchase as we all know you will buy it just a shame it's the slower colour Plus at least now you don't have to listen to this lot about where to put the tax disc.
