Panigale Engined Car.

  1. The S1 Exige weighs 780KG in comparison with 190 BHP form the VHPD Engine giving a reported 0-60 in 4.2 seconds - geared for short circuit racing with a close ratio box - top end 136mph due to this criteria, the S1 was launched ultimately as a track / race car. The S2 is different with many models, some of which are electronically limited to 160mph. An S1 Exige even won the Australian GT1 class a few years ago against the likes of Porsche, Ferrari, Aston and Lambo. A Ducati V Twin car could do that I'm sure :p but from the picture it does appear Jesus was driving it and he's gotta be quicker than the Stig...

  2. Will it be as expensive as the bike?

    Can we get an Superleggera?

  3. It already has the SL engine! VW/Audi do have quite a bit of experience in building cars, I'm sure they wouldn't bother if it wouldn't work!

  4. You mean they're going to launch it passed being a concept - doubt it?

  5. My wife had an A4.......it didn't work!!

What I don't understand is that if it's got a bike engine why is the car so big? Doesn't look that much smaller that an R8, so what have they done with the rest of the room previously used by engines. Must be good for shopping.....

  6. Would be nice if they copied the engine builders for radical sports cars using say two ducati motors like they do with the current ones running two hayabusa engines and a custom block.Could offer a v4 with 2x 1299 R motors or v8 with 2x desmosedici motors for those with deep pockets.

A good friend has a spire kit car running a ZX12Rr engine and it goes like shit off a shovel.More of a lightweight racer for the roads than a proper car like the vw/audi concept version.Im sure two duke motors would help shift that extra weight though.

  7. It has been known that a concept will make it to production, the Audi TT for a start. Manufacturers are looking to cut weight to improve economy and performance, think of the weight saving an 1199 motor would be over a conventional car engine?

  8. Erm, it weighs 890 KG with a carbon fibre tub and it's a concept. The S1 Exige is an Aluminium Tub and weighs 110KG less and uses a conventional car engine, both are the same category car supposedly, so how do your thought's stack?

  9. I'm pretty sure there is room in the marketplace for a small, lightweight, fun sports car with a V-twin engine. Sadly this isn't it.

  10. How about this?

  11. Ducati 2CV

  12. I've not compared this to an Exige, only commented on it as a concept car. I doubt that VW had the Exige in their sights when this was proposed!

  13. I was commenting on your question of how much weight it could save Vs a conventional car engine, they are a similar size, both have two seats so an additional 110KG by the looks of it, don't ask me how!

  14. The sad thing is that it has a VW badge.
    How are the mighty fallen.

  15. personally styling wise its pretty dire, the rendering is terrible - there's no way that came out of the VW design studio. Its got too many design cues from different vehicles and not enough VAG DNA in it. That's fanboy render at its best.

As for lotus owners... bunch of twats the lot of them. We used to get them showing up outside the factory at one of my ex haunts, all wanting their shitty clams repaired for pennies and wanting concourse finish on their less than concourse paint jobs. And you exige owners were the worst of the lot. Always fuckin pestering as if they were something special.

After that I went to work on proper track day cars and not one cardboard cutout racer in a lotus was ever seen again.. *wanders off muttering leaving a trail of wee behind him...*

  17. Did you ever have one of those mobile buckets of filler, or as their owners call them, TVR's?

  18. I had a fire made engined se7en and I went through three engines in three years. Gearboxes couldn't handle dragging around the weight. There is a reason it's called a bike engine. Because it belongs in a bike.
