899 About To Purchase An 899

  2. Standard pegs need replacing with some oberons. Loads better.

    Stickers add 30bhp too so def a worthwhile mod. ;-)

  3. I need to fit my Oberon pegs. Standard ones are made of ice, although they are fine in the dry.

    I dont copy i like to be different lol already got a graphic kit in mind if i get the white 899 . whats up with the pegs ? Im riding thwm both this arvo 899 and 1199s so mind will be made up then

No offence intended, but I doubt you'll be able to make a proper comparison between the two over the space of a couple of hours riding during busy traffic times which will more than likely see you trundling rather than flexing the bikes. To evaluate the bikes properly really you need to have them over the weekend where you can get up first thing and get out onto quiet, empty roads and become accustomed to them and start pushing them when you feel ready and unrushed. It will only be at this point that you'll be able to compare the pros and cons between them and be able to decide whether you're happy with an 899 or lust after more power that the 1199 has to offer, or maybe you'd feel the extra power of the 1199 isn't needed and the extra cost is unjustified. Anyway whatever you do enjoy, and after all it's a nice problem to have.

No offence taken very good points , thees some vefy good roads where i am and quite quiet but ive always ridden 600s and never got on with a 1000cc 4 pot and haven rid the 1199 a few weeks ok i already thought it was too much so the 899 is the most likely option but always good to try all the options haha i rode my 6 on a good few trackdays in tbe fast group and was never slowest so the 899 should havw just the right amount of extra grunt im after so pull me out of corners better than my 600 im 6ft4 and 95kg so my 6 struggled although she was up on power started at 110rwhp finished with 123rwhp and about 40lb torque maybe abit more
     
  8. So after riding the 1199s and 899 im def getting......the 899 absolutely loved it !!! So my next question is tuning it obv i need the termis because the akras are way too much but whst else do i need to do .... Airfilter pcV ???
     
  9. Standard cans are louder than Termis. :)

  15. Your Termis will come with a upmap and air filter and its a myth standard cans are louder ;),if you want extra performance changing your gearing is a cheapish solution.

  19. Termis are a def what gearing do you use --1 on rear ? Any one fitted a power commander to their 899?
