Lusting After An Sp

  1. Have you thought about a Streetfighter Ali?

  2. I'm lucky enough to have a Triumph Speed Triple too so am looking for something a bit different to be honest. Sports bike? Tick. Naked? Tick.

  3. I'm over Portsmouth way if you want a look/sit on mine.

  4. Im on my second 1100 hyper sp now ,never even sat on rode the 821 so dont know how they are , im 5 10 and can reach the floor ok , like already said the hypers are not a motorway sort of bike get them on the back roads and they are a blast to ride ......so much fun , wheelies all over the place and a complete hooligan machine , the 1100 has so much low end grunt....... more than the ktm 950/990 but the ktms have a little more up the top end of the range .
The Marzocchi suspension is so plush ....absorbs all the bumps and rough road surfaces , the low down speeds can be a little jerky and having a dry clutch ( 1100 im talking about )can get a little arkward for town use but never really bothered me , will have to get aride on a 821 at some point so i can compare .

  5. Thanks for the offer @Masklin. I think I'm going to see if I can have a test ride. That'll give me an idea of weather it fits but it's getting an idea of what they are like to live with longer term really

  6. Hi guys,
I'm new to the 821 and the height did bother me if i'm honest as i have lil legs (5'9) :Arghh:

I think if i had taken one out on a test ride i may not have bought one but now, having getting some miles under my belt and learning to tip slightly to one side at stop, all is good :upyeah: and loving it

Also dropped the forks through, tweaked the ohlins rear and put on the low seat…

Hope that's of some benefit to you ? :)

  7. Theres an immaculate 1100 evo SP in Fowlers (was in there yesterday) - they've also got a 3rd floor ktm area now...they seems to have colour coded each area for the different manufacturers they support...sorry, wandering now....anyway the sp was nice.

  8. The sp is great, had mine from new just over a year, very happy with her, surprisingly quick, agile and ..yep comfy...its fun and eats up the twisty lanes, no problem keeping up with some 1199s (apart from straight lines) although their lacks if balls in bends may have something to do with it

Seat height ...have to be careful as am only 5"10 so lean off to one side most the time..

Only mods so far an sc project can, air filter and air fuel modifier...all work well...but maybe a bit too noisy if I am honest oh and ducabike frame plugs doubt I will do anything else to her

No complaints from me ticks all the boxes as far as I am concerende

  9. No probs, consider it an open offer.

What's it like to live with? Well for me it is purely there for fun on a sunny day. My days of having a bike as sole means of transport in all weather are long gone. For what I have it for it is perfect, an absolute hoot. I love the looks and I love the fun I can have with/on it. My riding skills are such that I can in no way justify getting the SP over the standard bike in terms of my being able to use the upgraded parts to their best, I just much preferred the SP's looks over standard and was in the fortunate position that the price difference wasn't a factor.

The small carbon screen I have on it makes it more comfortable if you need to cover a few miles on the motorway, you can also fit the Hyperstrada screen if you want. The sports seat is a bit comfier I think than the standard. Also lowers the seat ever so slightly.

This is my second HYM, had an air cooled 796 prior to the SP. Intend to hang on to the SP for a while...
