Cafe Racer Track Day at Brands Hatch

Discussion in 'Sport Classic' started by Dutch, Mar 19, 2012.

  1. I'm planning a BSMC (BikeShed Motorcycle Club) Track day at the historical Brands Hatch racetrack in the UK this summer, specially for Cafe Racers, Scramblers and Trackers, etc, ... ideal for anyone in the UK with a Ducati Sport Classic.

Our bikes love the track, and although a modern/retro cafe racer like the SC1000 can easily mix it up with modern bikes on a trackday, there's something special about having a day dedicated to cafes and modren retros.

If you're interested please check out the article on the Bike Shed and then register your interest by emailing [email protected] with BSMC Track Day in the subject line.

I'm not running this for profit or commercial gain, all costs will be genuine, you'll just be paying for a track day where everyone else is on a cafe or retro bike.

  6. Hey Nick,
Look forward to seeing you at the TD. That Baines is just stunning. I'll try not to dribble on it too much.

  7. Nick, where did you get those cam belt covers from ? I'd like to change mine, but the only after market ones I can find have great swathes of perspex in them, which I dont like......

  8. I was thinking the same thing...

  9. Pics from the last trackday we did...

  10. I got the belt covers from Germany, but they only had them for the 650/750 motors with the smaller stroke/cylinders. I then removed the windows from these overs and drilled my old 900 covers and re-fitted them. Nog, if you want some covers with pre-drilled windows you can have the ones I've not used. You'll need to knock up some perspex discs and fit them, but they've new and un-used.

  11. Dutch,

The pics are fantastic. Both here and on your blog. Have you used filters or is it post processing?

    Rob.

  12. Hey Rob,

Glad you like the pics. Most are not pro shots, so when I have time, I use Photoshop to crop and then grade them, adjusting brightness, contrast, hue and definition tools and I de-focus backgrounds, foreground and even paint out signs, blemishes or people... They're all pretty quick fixes compared to what you can do if you take your time. ...

You can also do this kinda stuff with free online picture editing tools like pxlr.com and even the edit function on photobucket isn't terrible - but proper Photoshop can do truly amazing things when properly used.
