  2. Firstly I'd like to say that you've built a thing of extreme beauty.

Whatever I end up doing is going to be a complete shed in comparison but I hope it'll go and handle better than the bike I've been riding for the last 22 years.

Current idea (it's only been 9 days since it was still a slightly scruffy but quick 900SS, after all) is to build a TT900. Already boring Steve DucRed with frame-based questions but here's one for you:

As I'd really like to keep the Bos spaghetti header system I'll have two silencers to share the load .... would you suppose it'd be possible to construct a pair about the same shape as the one you've made but with enough sound absorbtion to stay out of trouble on the road and pass track day noise tests?

I can't say how much I admire your skills. Fantastic.

  3. Thanks...exhaust wise yes i can do anything you need,im thinking of doing a set for my ss for next year,i do any type of fab work and modifications.

  4. Something along the lines of a Laverda Montjuic system, except a little less raucous?

  5. No prob...the tt2 ones i make do have a baffle in them but i also made a alloy can to slip on the end for quiet tracks.

  6. Sounds ideal (argh!).

Still just a twisted heap in the garage (bike, not me) as I'm giving it a couple of weeks for the bruising to go down before I start really seeing what's what.

Can't see things getting to the exhaust stage for the forseeable but it's great to have an idea of what can be done (anything, by the sound of it).

Whereabouts in the country are you? I only ask 'coss I assume you need the bike.

    Cheers

  7. Im in Yorkshire, let me when you have a idea wot you want.

  8. seriously bud good look with the healing
and well you have a blank canvas to work with
so cant wait to see what you come up with
and cant wait to see the pics :upyeah:

  9. Might have only been a "bandy" but it was my bandy .... sob, sob .... you heartless pasty merchant.

As it happens I've been in touch with Steve and am very much looking forward to making his life, er, confused for the forseeable future.

Not sure it'll spend much time on the Island but there's a road in mid Wales that needs teaching a lesson ....

  11. That's very kind of you mate but I'm sad to say that I bend 'em better than I build 'em.

Here's a pic of the last one I built and that was really just cosmetic .... loved riding it though.

Oddly enough it was largely concieved and built when I was recovering from an operation to fix my broken back. Possibly a pattern emerging here?

And a rare moment of fame .. desmo.jpg

  12. That's cracking that is, indie. Authentic 80's gear is top notch too :upyeah::D

Once I've finished my 750SS, and persuaded the wife another project is a good idea, and got some cash from somewhere, and some time.... Aye, well, dreams are important..

Good luck with the project - I'll be following with interest.
