  1. The shocks are as notchy as hell though, i'm tempted to service them myself, any ideas?

  2. Upside down forks from the later RVF for the front and any third party shock for the back will be an improvement.....The original ones have probably just died of old age :frown:

  3. Ooooh i'll give that a go, thanks XxAnthxX will the handling still be as good do you think :)

  4. Mine felt even better after it....it still felt better than lots of modern day sports bikes when I sold it.

  5. Hi, this is my Biaggi Sterilgarda 749 rep. Many may remember it from Ducatisti. Plenty of upgrades since then, DP slipper clutch with a vented magnesium clutch casing and 1098R Ohlins radials with 1098R Brembo mono blocks.

  7. Horrible mate.............NOT

  8. Nice. Very, very nice......

  9. Work of art.
Makes you think of those race bikes which are stripped every five seconds so that absolutely nothing is dirty.

I'd hate to look too closely under my fairing.

Do you ever dare ride it in the rain?

  10. I got caught out once but generally.....no I don't.

  11. Race rep'ing the **9 models actually makes them look good, a feat worthy of Hagrids cabin

    Nice

  12. Your thoughts please...

I'm still tinkering with the '999 Italia' look: am trying to decide which of these front-fairing options I prefer...

The traditional white number-board but with black surrounding the two headlights:

Or this - more black, more striking? Or too much?

And yes - it is just black insulating tape, but I will get it painted properly once I've decided.

    I just can't decide

    thanks,
    Dom

  13. The first one. Defo.

And I'm not sure about the black fairing wings. Could there be a better idea?

  16. Love the look but I would keep the white number board at the front. Its a more classical front end look :upyeah:

  17. Thanks guys - I can see you're as undecided as me! I keep changing my mind almost daily about this.

Matt - I agree the first one looks more traditional, but that's partly why I like the second version - it's a bit more unusual, almost doesn't look like a 999. I like the fact that it's different. But purely aesthetically I (think) I prefer the first one. At least today I do...

Gliddofglood - I'm happy with the wings in black - it brings out the shape of the fairings, but works better from side-on:

Initially I had the bike's original black front mudguard on, and that kindof looked better with the black fairing wings from the front, but I really like the red/white striped mudguard. And changing the front mudguard is a right pain-in-the-arse so it's staying...!

    cheers,
    Dom

  18. Is that a plain black tank? It looks like it from the photos. If so, it's really crying out for a thick tricolour stripe down the middle or something to match the rest of the bike.

    I think.

  19. It is a black tank. The bike is a 999s Mono Nero and I've kept the original panels - these are just cheapies from HK. I don't want to paint the tank because I'd like to be able to put it back to stock at some point. I've been on the look out for a used fuel tank but damn they're expensive...!
