Hi All I believe this is a common fault with with 999's with the lens on the rev counter and information display cracking?? Both of my lenses have cracked on my 2003 999. Has anyone had one these repaired or is it a Ducati part only as you can not get the housing seperate and need to purchase a complete dash which equals = £££££!! Im sure they can be repaired by cutting out the old one and plastic welding or adhesive to fit a new lens?? Regards JGJ
Hi, Is your LCD dash cracked also? have got a complete dash but its just the LCD part that is damaged so if its the outer plastic then let me know. Regards Ian
That's exactly what I'm after,my LCD is fine but the clear round and square lenses are cracked so only need the front half of the housing, are yours in mint condition? And what you looking for?Might be best to private message?
In that case i can help you, will have to have a look but think its in pretty mint condition. If its all good then how would £50 inclusive of postage be? You can text or call me 07970786175
hey !!!!!!! whats the big secret,, as a potential 749 owner this is the type of issue I am interested,,,, as may be others..
Its not an issue i've ever had but had a cracked LCD screen after a slight off at Donington Park. Although if you are buying a 749/999 the replacement Dash is stupidly expensive if you buy new so make sure that it's in perfect working condition!
thanks for that mate,, I have been told that they were suspect but only on the earlier mk 1 version,( pre 05 ),, is there any way to check them other than external corrosion or cracking
As long as the LCD screen works fine which you can tell once you switch it on etc and the casings are all ok you should be fine. Even if you do need a new one you can buy a 2nd hand one off ebay and send it away to get reprogrammed. Did look in to getting a race digital display but that was 1k upwards and would have to do all sorts to ECU. Shame as there are some pretty cool displays out there! Just make sure when you look at a bike you re meticulous and you'll have yourself a pretty damn good bike!
