  1. I went out for a ride this evening, and on the way back home approached the last round about, had to change down to first, stopped then pulled away up to second but nothing. The nob of the gear changer had gone, took me a few seconds to figure it out, so had to do the last half mile in first(past the police station). Are these a bolt on part, and should I be looking at this regularly, I just assumed it was a rivet on part?? Will knock up an alloy one for now till I can get an original item.

  2. It's a ducati quick release part!

  3. No ejector seat??!!

  4. Wanna borrow my spare lever until you sort it?

  5. Thanks Al, I'll make one for now, MOT's up soon and I won't get time to sort out before it so was going to lay them both up for the winter then hit them hard in the spring and get them both on the road, for april(hopefully). Thanks anyway:upyeah:

  6. Just a thought,
If it's what I think it is, couldn't you just drill and tap (or not) a hole through the lever, then screw in a countersunk bolt and stack some nuts along it's length, then cover them with a piece of tubing?

  7. Calsport sells spare parts for gilles. They sell toes pieces and tbh they're pretty generic. This happened to me near Cern, whilst hammering an overtake on a lorry. Erm...wheres my gears....anyway, i swapped the brake toe piece for the gear one and carried on.

That's what I would do.......but, I would probably use a 10mm diameter stainless allen bolt with a suitable length unthreaded shank, cut the head down to say 2mm depth after I had screwed it in and loctited it, having first slid some tube onto it from the threaded end.
