I'm not liking their adverts that say that BT Sport is "still free" when you sign up to BT broadband, inferring that sometime in the very near future it won't be. And if they do decide to split the charges (which they will) I, for one, will be telling them to poke it where the sun don't shine.
I subscribe to the motogp website, you get all practice, qualy and races live ! If you can't watch live u watch when u want. All for around €100 per year ! Not free but over a year Stop moaning !!!!
Look guys its far better than the good old Beeb offered . Personally I love it . And its evolving/getting better .
I feel rather bitter that I am expected to pay for something I enjoy that I used to be able to watch for free. So I haven't watched a MotoGP race since BT hoodwinked the poor bloody public! not worth watching the repeat on ITV4 as that's shit! so now I'm getting older and more bitter and just catch up with MCN's version of events a few days later. I just wish the whole viewing public would treat the bloody BT debacle the same way! :Rage: Still. it makes me appreciate BSB more now....
They are right shysters. At the beginning HD was free via Sky for BT Broadband customers ... not anymore. Tossers. I hate BT with a passion - as one of their customers and one of their suppliers!
I fucken hate em moreunch:unch:unch:unch:unch::Rage::Rage::Rage::Rage: I signed up for a new conection with em (phone line) with broadband and free sport... Was suposed to be connected in 4 days. after connecting next door instead of me, it took a month, two half days off work and over 20 hours on the phone before they eventually got it sorted. They offered me £9.00 compensation! After many more hours on the phone to India i got £100.00. After a day or 2 wondering how to access the sport channel and another phone call it turns out that i had only asked for the basic broadband and needed to upgrade to get sports!!! WTF??? Countless more hours on the phone to India explaining to all that i had specifically asked how do i get bt sports on my tv and was told i need the bt box (one off charge) and the tv pack £5.00 p/m. They admitted i had been ill advised when purchasing their product but refused to upgrade me to infinity FOC and when i said cancel my fucken contract you cvnts they told me it would cost £450.00 odd to do so!!!!!!! Yet more time wasted on finding out how to resolve this. Turns out I need a letter of deadlock from them to take to a mediator, which after another 2 hour call to India they agreed to send me.. 3 months later and im still being charged and have not received the letter. TBH ive given up as it was/still is making me fucken insane and i just have to blank it out as i cannot spend anymore energy on this.. I aint one to give up a fight but when i look at how many hrs of my life ive lost and how many more i will i just have to pay till contract up..I cant say on line what i would like to do in case some one else does it first and i get the blame!!!! but it anit humane
Hi chisel I like the coverage as for dealing with B bloody T , they are not any different to all the other companies that rip us off and are pretty much impossible to get any fair play/good service / or compensation out of.Water suppliers andElectricity suppliers have been my recent nightmares .
Chisel, I just cancel my direct debit as soon as I don't get an answer I like. Soon gets them trying to resolve the issue and they even pay for the calls and call back at my convenience. I've only ever been threatened with court once by the water board and nothing came of that. They just turned the stopcock off, so I turned it back on. The customer is always right!
Haha brilliant. So did you get away with not being charged for that period? By the way, when you sign up to MotoGP directly is it the same footage as you get through BTSport ?
Good call. The great thing about direct debits is you can cancel them any time you please. You may still have to pay the supplier something in the end, depending on what was in the contract and what services you have actually received, but in the meantime they have to chase you instead of you having to chase them. This reduces the time-wasting hassle factor considerably.
I must remain in a minority. I pay for BT Sport through Sky as I watch both football and MotoGP and I am happy to have a pretty modest subscription for the privilege. Although I don't drink, I know a pint in London costs well over £5 so for the cost of couple of pints people are up in arms about expecting professional global coverage of a premier sporting event. I despair at people who wince at the cost of something they want, cut their nose off to spite their face, mooch down the pub and spend an evening grumbling over about £10 or whatever it is then blow more than that on KFC on the way home. If the coverage is good and the you enjoy it then man up or get over it and move on. Other issues with BT services are secondary to this thread and I doubt you ever find a thread praising a utility provider anyway.
I have BT sport free via Sky I renew every 12 months for broadband I was sent a letter from BT to pay for BT Sport this year but had the above option So renewed my broadband for 12 months
I do like the coverage on BT which was the only reason i signed up.. i was perfectly happy with no phone or broadband as i do fuck all on line other than this and shopping for bike bits and tethering to my mobile was adequate for both. But i foolishly thought i would treat myself and get the gp on tv. I did stop my direct debit and managed to get £100.00 offa my future bills but that in no way covered the time or the stress. Now i dont pay by direct debit it cost me £3.00 more a month!!!!! Anyway i still cant get sport unless i pay to upgrade, Which i refuse to do on principle or wastes countless more hours perusing this.. It aint about the money... i had already paid for motogp.com but alot of the coverage (moto 2 and 3 practice) doesn't have commentary and on the odd weekend i have off i just wanted to be able to put on the telly and watch 6hrs a day of bikes going round and round with a bit of banter in the background!
Check your bills guys. I signed up with BT in July 2013 and my service went live in August 2013. BT Sport is free to all broadband customers as long as they are within their minimum contract period. This is a key point. Also as I had signed up pre-August 1st I was also eligible for a free upgrade to receive the HD service via Sky, normally £3 per month extra. However, it's only free for 1 year. After that they charge the £3 per month. I've been paying an additional £3 for HD since August. I've just cancelled it. Whilst I was on the phone regarding the HD bit, I asked how long I would get free BT Sport for. He said "for as long as you remain within your minimum contract period". He was very careful in his wording and was guarded in his responses to my questions. The bottom line is that you will get BT Sport for free for as long as you are within the time frame of the contract that you signed up for initially, 18 months in my case. My contract expires in Feb 2015 and at that point I'm free to go elsewhere without penalty. However, if I stay with BT but don't actually enter in to a new contract, just letting it roll on in effect, then I will start to pay for BT Sport at £13.50 per month. I've got no plans to switch from BT but I will definitely be on the phone to them in January to set up a new contract.
Thanks for the clarification Gilps. I am intending to swap to BT ( The horror) as I want to get BT sport to watch Moto GP next season. I was unaware of the contract issue!
Oh yea thats another thing, Bt told me that although i'd have to upgrade to get sports (contrary to what i was advised when signing up) I could how ever watch online! but a windows laptop like mine will not support the app... they don't advertise that bit.....
