Was away yesterday and last night so couldn't ride my new bike at all yesterday, though I did sit on it and fire her up before I left. Anyway this morning we rush back from the Lakes so I could get out on the bike for a couple of hours before the rain sets in this afternoon. Get togged up, roll her out of the garage, insert the key, turn the key. Nothing. Niet, Niente, Zilch - Flat as a frigging fart! No dash lights..... nothing!!! Now waiting for a call back from the dealer cos I is mightily pissed off!!
You haven't had an alarm thing fitted to it have you? Strangely and inexplicably, 12 years ago when my Alfa was new, it did a similar thing a couple of times. Turned the key - nothing. And then the problem went away all by itself never to return. I never did figure out what the hell caused it.
No, no alarm cos Ive always beem aware they drain the battery. Ive taken off the fairing to have a look at the battery but cant see anything amiss wiring wise. Still waiting on the Dealer to call back. Yours sincerly "Pissed Off" of Holmfirth
Absolutely nothing?? Loose terminal maybe, just been PDI'd and give you good chance to see how ball aching getting the fairing off is
I often leave my 'side light ' on by mistake. That will drain the battery totally flat! don't know if you have one fitted on your bike, if you have it's easy to do. Do you have any way to check the battery directly across the terminals, either a voltmeter, or failing that just a 12v bulb to see if the battery is totally flat?
Battery was totally flat. I've put a charger on it to see if that helps. But so far nothing :/ But thats not the point is it
If you turn the key past the steering lock position it turns on a parking light....which is where I'd place my bet at the culprit being!
I honestly don't think I did but I guess it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Anyway the dealer has now given me the number for Ducati Recovery. So Im now currently being passed from pillar to post
Just another little tip....never ever leave her home alone again....she's probably just sulking with you! They do love attention!
Well after speaking to the Ducati Recovery number which happened to be the AA in Lyon (yes in la belle France and no I don't understand why I had to be put through to France!) they told me to call Carole Nash in the UK, who have now arranged for the AA to call in the next 1.5 hours - what a joy!
