1200 New Multi Imminent?

  1. I would expect a whole new bike rather than the engine swap and cosmetics so it may be a while but then Ducati may surprise with a new MTS sooner.

If they make a PP version, I figure I'll swap. If there is a delay in the PP type version then I'll wait. I hope they delay as the PP is pretty new for me and I'll be annoyed if suddenly a new sparkly thing is available and I'm the grinch without one.

I couldn't give a stuff about consumption, I have no idea what any of the bikes do and the MTS really doesn't need a lot more power and my twin spark seems pretty smooth. Not a lot to change power wise, it's more the toys like GPS that will make a difference to the real world use.

If I was Ducati, I'd analyse all the stuff people add to the bikes aftermarket and simply target the most popular as the essentials either standard or as options. They seem to ignore things a lot of folk like such as Optimate port, heated bits and bobs, better GPS, USB charging stuff, TPM etc.

KTM are also some way ahead on the ABS and clever suff they have so I'd like to see this safety options around as well.

  2. Defo new bike coming out, has been confirmed. Will be released at Cologne show, all new bike, not a facelift. Lots of new tech on it too!! On sale Feb/March next year.

  3. Touring and Sport version confirmed, NO PP mentioned. Like you I would probably like to wait for PP before I chop mine in.

  4. I think you mean Feb/March 2016? Cologne Intermot was on just a couple of weeks ago and the Scrambler was the only really new machine they showed off.

  5. I was told that it was going to be 2015 Feb/March. Dealers were shown the bike a couple of weeks ago in Italy.

  6. Milan?

  7. Not sure, but tall phones etc were taken from them. New Pannigale which is basically a Superleggera (no idea on spelling!!)

  8. Dealers were shown bikes in Sorrento. ;)

  9. Join the club :Arghh: wonder if they've sorted the back brake ?

  10. Defo confirmed new launch next March , base model,is £16000. You will then be able to add various kits,ie touring kit, enduro kit etc. So for sure it has the new engine, it has variable seat height too, from I'm told 805 mm upwards. All headlights are now LED, dashboard is a la panigale,ie different riding modes concentrate on different dashboard info in colour. I just fitted my new lower seat today! I'm sure it will be a serious tool.

  11. Any in built navigation?

  12. Not to my knowledge, but it might be included in one of the options packs being made available?

  13. Pricing themselves out of the market IMO. Already overpriced for all versions and certainly never worth £16k even if it teleports between destinations.

  14. Wish list time Mr Ducati?
    Built in GPS satnav
TFT screen (the latest full colour jobbie, to go with saynav)
    Adjustable seat height
The ability to remove the rear wheel WITHOUT taking the exhaust off
    Oh and more robust materials!

  15. I wonder if current panniers and top box will fit, or will that be all new.....?

  16. If the colour screen is like the one on the 1200 Monster, I'd say "no thanks".

In anything approaching daylight, it's unreadable. Utterly hopeless.

  17. If it were waterproof and corrosion resistant, that would be a big improvement.

you will get 3 out of 6- don't know about the robust materials, not sure how you could have a built in sat nav without having a massive dash?
