Seen a 70 mm Termi system for sale for an 848, but not sure what I have as stock and what if any difference a 70 mm full system would make. I just have the slash cut termi end cans at the moment.
On my 1198, its made the sound louder and angrier and i swear it feels slightly less torquier but the torque last longer and is slightly fiurther up the rev range. If that makes any sense. Ive no empirical data for this. Plus ive not had it dyno set up yet. I am in the process of booking with Chris at CJS.
I had a full system on my 848. TBH the key benefit was it looked and sounded a lot nicer.. I never had any dyno before after figures, but the bike certainly felt more freed up, if you follow? Pretty sure I read/heard somewhere that there was a slight mid - range drop when fitted. Personally I can't stand the sight of that ghastly heat shield, so it was worth it to me having it. However I'm part way through modding the stock item on my track bike to lose the flapper and shield completely. 848 with full system and my part completed cut and grind.
All I've heard is its too large and affects performance negatively more than positively. When the 848 challenge cup allowed Evo models they then said the older 848 could run full system but dont think most did because of this

Can't get it to quote right on my phone, but in response to Dementor A full map can make the best of what you have. That doesn't mean what you have is best for your bike. Been there, done that. You need the right airflow in matched to the right exhaust purge out. Too big or small on either and it'll never be as good as it can be. But a full map by someone good will as I say give you the best result for whatever you do.
According to a well know Ducati tuner..."the only bike that benefits from the full system is the 1098R"
@chrisw disabled my exhaust valve last weekend and just that in itself made it sound a lot more beefier under 4,000 rpm. I also got a new mid section (which Chris very kindly gave me) with the internals of the valve removed. I am polishing these up a little and cleaning the welding splatter and bending marks off them. I also want to lose the big ugly tea tray in favour of the skimpy termi one. Does look miles better. I also read up that a 70 diameter exhaust was too much for the 848. I'm just going to fit the new mid section and then probably get it remapped over the winter.
Try telling that to Mr Alonso! I do like the older ducatis in red but no so keen on the newer ones in ketchup Tricolores look the biz, but can't beat this fine example sporting the corse colour scheme!
Yes, I know I am missing a screw from my cheap rearsets and yes I hate that shark fin shape too but I aint paying more than £100 for rearsets anymore. Want to get wheels repainted black now. Hate that grey colour.
