As the title says this is probably going to be the first of many. So the first item I'm working on is the fuel tank. I have managed to extract 5 of the grub screws from around the filler plate, but 3 of the little devils are being a little difficult in the extreme to remove. So a T7 won't grip, so I am getting a T8 and T9 torx bit to try and grip. After that I suppose its try and drill out the grub screw? Are there are other options I could consider.
Mine was found to have 3 sheared grub screws when removing the filler plate recently. I'm sure a sealant would be just as effective....?
Ok chaps, mine are 2mm allen key sockets, the use of a Torx bit is a well known trick to get allen socket bolts out if the socket has rounded out, but I might change to Torx during the rebuild.
keep soaking in wd40 (or similar) and move on to the next bit - come back to it later... you have plenty else to work on in the meantime.
