Anorak?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by El Toro, Oct 24, 2014.

  1. Would you describe yourself as a ducati anorak or a general biking enthusiast?

  2. Enthusiast for me. I know a bit, but want to know a lot more and am aiming to be an anorak one day :Bookworm:

  3. General biking enthusiast for me

  4. I have a BSA Bantam and fancy an R1 Crossplane or MT09, I suppose that puts me out of the running for an anorak badge.:Bag:

  5. General bike enthusiast. My fantasy garage would have a lot more than just Ducatis in it. Wouldn't be that many Japs though.

  6. Ive always liked the Japanese machines. I'll admit I probably wouldn't have too many in my dream garage, but I'd certainly have a few. Yeah, a Ducati only garage would be a pain. You'd be doing the belts all the bloody time :) :)

  7. Not if you had the 899 ;)

  8. Anorak on some subjects (certain areas of electronics [battery's, radio 10~500MHz and LEDs], cryogenics and thermodynamics), but a bike enthusiast (MTS1200 and 998S being my favourites).

  9. And knob jokes, surely:p

  10. I admire Japanese engineering but I can't stand Jap styling. Plastic Power Ranger looks and training shoe colour schemes are a deep turn off for me. European bikes just look more grown up.
But sticking solely to Ducatis would mean missing out on the characteristics of other engine configurtions. No V4's, no 60degree V twins, no inline fours, no triples, transverse V's or thumpy singles? I'd have the lot if I could, and many of them would be customs. Variety is the spice of life. And it helps you appreciate your Duc all the more.

  11. Anorak on Boobies - General with Bikes but Kawasaki first, Ducati Second and currently riding an R1 and have more Ducati's in the house than others - what's happened there... I've confused myself, should have stuck to Boobies :Wideyed:

  12. Funny you should say that I was only looking for new knobs for my kitchen cupboards
    yesterday :)

  13. I have a know going spare but it would be too large for your cupboard

  14. I once owned an orange Cagoule

  15. Enthusiast. Attention span and lack f intelligence make becoming an anorak out of scope

  17. Yes I don't know nearly enough about engineering to be an anorak and I suffer from an extreme lack of interest in the changes over model years/runs to qualify either. Ok, own up - who actually owns this sort of book?

  18. what happened there!

  19. Something like this....@Exige could help with the modelling should you want something bespoke?
