you will need some specialist skill to go with the rope access cert,, eg, welder , tester / inspector , scaffolder . painter etc,, good luck,, Invergordon ?
A friend of mine used to work for this company after he retired from the police Earle International ( Trading ) They supply what you are looking for.
Thanks for the replies folks. Will look into some more products from above links.Stab wounds would be biggest risk but many firearms around here with Wolves/Birmingham being particularly bad.So probably opt for protection from both in a vest.Like the fact that PPSS version COE gets shot wearing also has needle protection and looks thin and lightweight.Last thing I need is anything bulky as I want to wear vest covertly under a shirt and if it offers protection from a weapon like a glock pistol that's good enough for my needs . My friend working in dry dock is painting and shot blasting from what he tells me.Will ask him location but I think its the above.
Yeah he said id love the roads on a bike and he is also into climbing and skiing. The only way it could be any better is if it was in the south of France for higher temps but Scotland sounds good also.
if you know anything about painting then get your self onto a " coating inspection " course if you can,,,,, shotblasting / painting is dreadful job mate ,,or ndt weld test
PS ( sor Finm ) but don't bother taking your bike, these contracts usually last about 2 weeks and you will be expected to work 7 x 12
Just make sure it's comfortable fit and try them on first mail order ain't a good option over the years been fitted for them by experts and they were still shite to wear. Best line of defence is distance if anyone is close enough to stab you your not doing it right
Yep would want to try on for fit, weight and ease of movement before placing order. After I left the job last time my good friend was shot in the leg a month later and not long back another very experienced guy I know got stabbed in the back.Oh and another guy I don't know recently got stabbed in the chest working in wolves and was critical for quite a while. I think as violence is faced by more people at work dealing with the general public these vests will become a big seller.Police and court bayliffs all have em and I bet they will be needed for paramedics and college/school security soon.
I'm recently back from a rig/ship building yard in South Korea and all the painter blasters were women! Fuckin ace!!
Bugger that Matt get a job as a meeter greeter at Tesco then u only have deranged grannies to worry about
