Tis fine down here. Was lovely on Tuesday. Sunny warm and bright. Going to be mild at weekend too. I will be out on 1198 at weekend.
I think my summer jacket will be fine. Might take a trip to the seaside too. My waterproofs have been stowed away for an eternity it seems. What time does it get dark up there?
I calculate two more weeks of riding then there'll big a big blow, all the leaves will be off, the temperature will plummet and it'll all turn to shit. So middle of November the SF gets mothballed and shipped off to Louigi Moto for the elves to work a bit of winter magic on it. Trouble is it might be back by Christmas and I'll have three or four months gnawing my fingers to the bone itching to get on it.
Tell me about it Fin Same hear in the land of Weeg, tipping it down and starting to get nippy too. Mind all that rain means I can get GoPros and video camera out and get some footage of the rivers in spate. @bootsam I hate it up here when the clocks go back, just plunged into a world of dark then not quite so dark then back to dark. Wish we didn't have that daylight saving crap........................how can you save daylight anyway, like can you keep it in a jar and save it up so you can have a whole day's worth. Then you can go out for a day? John
Its saved for your farmers and school kids. I too think its daft. On the plus side in summer you get longer evenings. I never understood it as a kid as it mightve been light on way to school but it was dark on way home. I'd rather have had light on way home.
@Old Jock .it rained. some right good spate rivers about here as you probably know. quite fasinating watching them swell. @bootsam and @Gimlet MEH!
i believe the A82 was in spate as well up betweem Balahulish and Fort William ( that's a cracking few miles of road )
Been along the A832 @bootsam? Not the fastest but the views are brill. Known as the Destitution Road as it was built during a Potato Famine in 1846 as way of keeping the locals alive. Defo heading there masel next year been waaaaaaay too long
Aye, I have. But in a car. I holiday up the west coast most years but I always have wifey and we fly to inverness and get a hire car. I'd be too ashamed to subject the quiet serenity with my fuck off loud pipes tbh. One yr i'll ride up from my aunts at dumfries. Its the peacefulness I go there to enjoy. I prefer to subject the French to my noisy aggressive high speed riding instead. Never shit on your own doorstep eh.
something you don't think about during a flood, in that car park there was maybe 30-40 cars most where floating, now that the water subsided, there's engine oil, diesel the lot, every where. must of been honking down on the south and west during the floods down there.
catch it at the right time. one of the more dangerous roads in the area (frustrated locals) got a weird camber on one particular bend, killed a lot of people. but yip get it at the right time, i have heard my self laughing inside my helmet more than once.
