Even BMW couldn't stop the almost exact copy of the X5 shown on Top Gear. BMW complained to the Chinese Government who said it look nothing like it! Our Western Government's cannot/will not intervene. They can only do the importers/distributers at this end and as these are shipped direct to individuals it's impossible to police. Other than doing Ebay for wilfully aiding and abetting. But they will claim to take them down once reported - but who at Ebay would know if we report - the reporting system doesn't allow you to explain your reason for reporting so they will look at it and leave it - unless they know about brakes and bikes!
china has no intellectual property rights and there in lies its problem, they can only ever copy or manufacture for other countries, they will never invest in R&D once their currency is revalued to its true worth they will also no longer be a cheap place to manufacture either long term they have serious issues

You can get spare engine parts from China for BMW 650 singles too. But perhaps this is not much of a problem, given that the OEM engines are made in China in the first place.
