Fly Bike Fly For 2015.

I think we would look at doing this next time we go to southern Europe as it's a lot of miles to get there on the bike that would be better spent in the mountains or twisties down south where the weather is more likely to be good.

 

for sure it has its advantages but it is not cheap.

 

I think if I was continuously going to ride across Europe on the Panigale I'd soon get to the point where I'd feel the need to get something a bit more suited to touring. I'd happily spend another hundred quid or two on these flights to gain a couple more days and still have the Panigale for the best roads.

 

I don't know about Nice but I just done a quick cost comparison from Glasgow to Malaga ( which is my norm ) , to drive it is around £ 750,, to do "Fly " is nearer £1150..

How many days does it normally take you ride there?

 

only ever driven,, av. 2.5 / 3 days, ( from Aberdeen ) depending on ferry times.

 

Try the rail option. Should work out cheaper than the fly option.

can you take a motorbike on a train,, not in UK far as I know

 

You can in Europe.

 

the nearest Motorail station is Paris !!!

 

I thought you could load a bike onto the train in London. I think a mate of mine did it, I'll check. Mind you it is actually a scooter that he rides...."The horror!"

Royal, I'd have thought the ferry from Porstmouth to Santander or Bilbao was the way to go.
