Best advice, put your arse on one and ride it up the road. I didn't, but I have no regrets, I love the bike, fantastic machine.
is it the seat? I have a nice carbon full single seat unit, incl rear light, in the garage doing nothing...
@Jack I've got an 848 evo and had a good couple of rides on the 899. If you want an 848 don't ride the 899. Easy peesy ;-)
How can a 899 be better than this If you're getting a SE make sure it's in red far better looking and getting rare these days
I rode an 899, loved it. But I didn't love it 6k more than the as new (less than 500 miles) standard 848 that I got instead. Someone said above if you want an 848 then don't ride an 899.... I'd agree to an extent. The 848 took a few weeks to gel with and get suspension set up right but now it's amazing. The 899 was just good from the off. I would have needed to pcp the 899, for the same monthly payment I'll own the 848. Plus, I think the fuel tank and exhausts are better looking on the 848. And the standard seat is comfier too. Cheaper to insure. Shock is in the 'correct orientation'. Swingarm (singular!) is beautiful.
I think its fair to say that if you rode and 848 and 899 one after the other, you would want the 899.
