I saw this and thought it was a multi. Do these companies think we are idiots lol. Still V twin well L twin over straight four anyday
Thing is it will probably be recall free and any user forums won't be full of my *+¥€#~$¥¥**+ has broken or my *#+*%^#} has fallen off.
Absolutely, got two mates with them . one has had his 2013 swapped for a 2014 because of gearbox issues. The other bought a brand new 2014 Adventure and is going through the " I want to reject this bike " route as we speak.Same problems i.e. gearbox is agricultural to say the least.
+1 for that, Go on UKGSER or the KTM forum or any other bike forum for that matter, same complaints as here, paint flaking corrosion, failed components etc. BMW had to recall and ground their RTs earlier this year. In reality for every complaint on any forum about build quality, reliability etc there are thousands of riders who just buy their bikes ride and enjoy them, If any issues appear they let the dealer take care of them. Thats not to say that there is not the occasional Lemon and bad dealership service out there. I think its down to what brand and styling you are into at the time, at the moment I personally like Ducati, thats not to say that in the future I will not change to BMW or KTM. There is no Holy Grail of motorcycles out there that do not corrode or break down, just pick the one you like.
Buying my first Ducati was a leap of faith and I have had my fair share of standard issues (dash replacement etc) but love the bike and the character of it. (Apart from the skyhook suspension) having said that, responding to the last post for 30 years I,ve had Hondas and. Zzr14oo and apart from 1 regulator/rectifier issue I never had a problem or any issues, owning a ducati makes me realize that jap bikes by and large were soleless in comparison, almost a utility bike however our European manufacturers should take lessons from them in quality control. If I wanted to ride around the world it would be a jap bike not a BMW
