Multi in the shop for 3rd set of clocks(!!) and they gave me a BMW S1000R as a courtesy bike. Bloody hell, what a great bike! And at 11.6K with the excellent semi-active Sport pack fitted a bit of a Bargain compared with the 15.5K Multi! Try one if you get a chance. If the S1000XR is anything like this it's going to be GREAT!
Price looks good but do you honestly think ze Germans will keep giving you new clocks, suspension, brakes etc etc on a monthly basis?
I was hoping that dealing with "ze Germans" would make that unnecessary!! I thought it was only a Ducati that necessitated that!
Yeah, being the old fart I am, it wasn't the bonkers factor that had me gushing about the S1000R. Rather it was the REALLY confidence-inspring handling (even on todays damp, cold roads), plush suspension, roomy riding position (though still slightly less comfortable than the Multi I s'pose) and the smoother delivery of the 160bhp stomp. It's not as torquey as the Multi but with the 4 grand I'd save over a new Multi I could probably live with that!
Fair enough moving the post but I posted it in the Multi 1200 section as I'm a Multi 1200 owner and I though the connection to the upcoming S1000XR was most relevant to us Mutley owners. Just wanted to explain my warped thinking!!
Don't worry. Its just ET flexing his fascist muscles and frog marching around like Basil Fawlty. Zis iz ze Multistadhausen forum. Nicht posten.
Over zealous moderating perhaps .....................................................................:Bag:
....wweeeeeellllll....it's about a potential Multi replacement..... But anyway you're The Boss!! :-D No worries!

Is that the older one or the new one Bradders, I've been idly speculating on what hooligan bike would complement the Panigale and these tick a fair few of the boxes although reviews seem to imply that the latest is stupidly quick but less hooligan than others. I've got a stupidly quick bike already so more interested in the hooligan side of things to slow me down and have some fun (cue - hypermotard...)
