Hey guys Just sold my 10' Multi S and Im looking into getting an 1199 or 1299.. Got a nice deal on a nearly new (about 200miles on it) 1199s but im also considering a new 1299s.. Thing is ill be saving about 5k on the 1199s and id like an opinion from the current owners on whether the 1299 would be worth the wait and the money. Thanks Mario
Couldn't agree more. The 1199 is all but new, will come with the majority of the warranty which can be extended and is 5k less. Some are suggesting the 1299 is basically slightly more powerful version of the 1199 but with the niggles ironed out. The extent of these 'niggles' depends vastly on who you talk to. Some people have been plagued whilst others haven't had any issues whatsoever. Luckily up till now I'm the latter. In my opinion 5k is a lot of money that could be better spent. 5k is decent 848 track bike. Or erm....a new kitchen!?#! (the missus made me say that!).
Yeah you're probably right, I think it was 5k the last time I put a kitchen in. It was a long time ago. I've been prioritising the money better since by buying bikes!:Smug:
Only you could tell if the newer bike is worth the difference, but I'd plump for an 1199 and a bunch of cash too.
I will pick up my new 1199S in December, if all goes well next year i'll keep it or may trade it back in for the 1299S, £5k may be used for other things, the choice is really up to you as you will get different views on here
Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Happy to say that im signing the paperwork tomorrow for my new 1199S! As suggested I can always trade it later for a '16 1299s.. Pics to follow!
I wonder what a £5k holiday is like. You must be able to go to most places. You could probably have about 2 months in India and come home with huge bag of change. Or you could have a fascinating time in Japan. Diving in Tahiti? You'd get plenty of that for £5k surely. Or maybe cross the entire USA on a bike (you could probably throw in bits of Canada too for that money).
Heard from a guy with a Stealth Black 848 they are a bugger to keep clean. From personal experience you wouldn't be disappointed if you did give in to temptation too!
