Not to sure at the moment.I might have to have a re think of what might be more suitable for me to ride.I am currently recovering from a hip replacement on my RHS,that is the kick start leg,and my left hip is also on its way out. Pity really as I really like the two bikes. The Triton has not been ridden since 2011,MOT and back. The MH went out about 3 times last year.
Had a Triton in my youth 1968 I loved that bike, would love one in the garage now. Steve Ps I remember selling it for £80
feel for you merv, hope that days way of for me as love my sportsbikes and luckily the MV aint to bad to start on the kicker, being 50 can honestly say i feel more comfy on a sportsbike, bad knees and all, than on an upright bike as the wind blast is a killer for me and trying to rip your arms out of your sockets at anything over 60mph
Is that a tickle front brake on the Triton,i bought my Triton in the early 80's for £150,i bought a second hand pair of carbs last year for £600!!!
Yes rcv4-well spotted. All the right bits and pieces have gone through the roof.My old Triton is 1957 and does have a lot of period bits and pieces on it.
She looks spot on...mine is one of the last widelines 650ss 1969 it has been packed away for the last 20 years awaiting a rebuild,i could never part with it tho.
Good stuff rcv4.You got something to look forward to with your rebuild.Funny how some bikes grab you and take up permanent residence.
WTF mate,, three times has to be better than not at all,,, both beautiful bikes,, when you go out on the Triton then just make sure you got a pall along who can give you a push start !!
One day,my alloy tanks were stolen in the 90's so that will be the first job,the head needs new seats rare t120v head,5 speed slick shift, and a polished and ballanced t140 crank by the late freddie cooper
Lubbly Jubbly spec.Pity about your tanks-they don't come cheap these days.Nice to have the slick shift with 5 speeds-just right for a road bike. I am a bit of a sucker for Tritons and Triton bits.Luckily Mrs Mervyn is a real doll and lets me get away with murder.
As far as I know there isn't an electric start for a Triumph pre unit twin. I did look at BSA Gold Star with an electric start-was a bit on the pricey side, but very tempting.
A guy i do work for has 2 goldies with electric start but he is 84 you can buy the starter as a kit...TTonup i have a race spec xt500 that takes more of a kick then my Triton ever did.
