Oh yeh, great - the 'Tarquin & Jemima' set making a fehucking horse dance ... pinnacle of sporting prowess, that is..... The only medals that count are ones that the whole world can compete in - running, jumping, swimming, throwing etc - not some array of minority pass-times that 95% world can't even afford the equipment for, let alone have anywhere to practice them .....
Are you suggesting that Princess What's her name and Prince Abdullah should compete in the boxing or BMX perhaps? You anarchist! :wink:
....and whilst I'm in a cheery mood - just how many different ways can you row a bleeding boat? 1 person, 2 person, 4 person, 8 person, one oar each, two oars each, heavyweight, lightweight, facing backwards, facing forwards, sitting down, kneeling .... and then repeat every class in a friggin' canoe on an artificial river !!! Don't remember any of that lot being on our PE curriculum ..... Don't even start me on different classes of sailing boat ....... As for that Steve Redgrave ...... national hero? Competed at 5 different Olympics did he? All I know is that he lived off taxpayers handouts for 20 years instead of getting a job and paying tax like the rest of us .... free house & a porsche to get to training - yep, I'll put them on my next tax return and wait for the red letter to come back. Oooh, I feel better now .... :biggrin:
Rant rant ranttity rant! That all sounds really funny on a Ducati forum. Now then, let's see, cost of racing a motorcycle : bike, spare bits for crashes, unlimited tyre budget, motorhome, caravan or trailer, circuit hire etc etc etc etc. Could that be anything to do with why there are almost no competitors from third world nations in top-level bike racing? Then there's all the different ways you can compete on a bike: trials, motocross, speedway, drag-racing, circuit racing, enduro, rallying, ice-racing. Bit like rowing then. Ah, but it's not an OLYMPIC sport, is it? Whatever. Let's limit the Olympics to the open-water swimming and marathon running. Don't need any infrastructure for that. Now everything's fair.
If you live in a desert you would only be able to train for marathon so swimming would have to be removed as well.
If you lived in the Maldives you're have a real problem with the Marathon too. Maybe scrap that as well. There you go - job done. No more Olympics at all.
I need a kick up the arse as miserable as sin... Even Ben and Jerry couldn't help me today .. Then I saw that the hairy bikers have lost lots of weight , granted well done but I liked them when you could have grabbed hold of them And copped a cuddle. Very funny guys mind. Gotta love a big hairy biker or two.
Time to take a cold shower Hellcat, you're going to come over all unnecessary in a minute! I'm not in a stinking mood, but I am bit pissed off with being off work sick, unable to ride the bike,and can't afford to go and sit on a nice hot beach to forget about it all.
Stinking mood last night!!! Thanks to the guys next door but one who poured as much lighting fluid on their BBQ as they could to smoke everyone out!!!! It was a bonfire so all the doors and windows had to be shut and you know how humid and hot it was!!! Knob heads grrrr It still smelling this morning
