1200 2015 Pikes Peak

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Barrycg, Nov 10, 2014.

  1. Just for info for anybody else who's interested, I emailed Borgo Panigale,

Hi, I currently have a 2014 multistrada Pikes Peak,
and would like to know if you will be releasing the new 2015
multistrada in the Pikes Peak model or other special edition please
? As I will be changing to the new model but don't want to buy a
multistrada S then you release a better model,

    this is the first response,

    Dear Mr. Green,

    thank you for contacting us.

With reference to your request, I shall advise you to check all of our nwe models on our official website www.ducatiuk.com, at the section "Bikes", where you will read that a new Pikes Peak model has been released, the new Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak, " a faithful replica of the Multistrada that has been victorious in the prestigious PPIHC three years running. Based on the S version, it includes all the elements typical of Ducati's sporting tradition: Marchesini 3-spoke wheels, Termignoni exhaust and gritty carbon fibre accessories. "

For further suggestions and information, please contact a Ducati authorized dealer. To search for the nearest one, please go on our "Dealer Locator" section on website.

    I remain at your disposal.

    Kindest regards,
    Sofia

    My reply,

    Hi Sofia,
    thank you for your reply,
I have read the website and this refers to the model I currently own,
Iā€™m asking if the new model with the DVT engine will be released in Pikes Peak trim
    please ?
I have spoken to my dealer but the have no information

I'll post there response when I get one.

  2. Don't hold your breath....
I'm in the same shoes, except I've already decided to keep mine for another 23 months (until the warranty expires).
Just adding a Ceramic Termis to mine with a CJS tune....will post all findings on here (separate thread).

  3. I would expect a PP (or equivalent special edition) to break ground after a year or so. It would need the bike to win a race to aid marketing so maybe they have a plan along those lines. I'll keep my PP until such time as they announce something and decide then. In all likelihood, I'll make the change as it will probably be a 2016 bike and any first run glitches will have had some chance to be sorted. I don't have an issue with version 1.0 anyway, my KTM was a fresh model after all and I did the same with the SF848 a few years ago.

  4. Wouldn't have thought they'd drop the pikes peak model , even though a kawasaki won it this year.

  5. Does winning or not really affect Multistrada sales in Europe?

  6. I doubt very much that the pikes peak will resurface now the event is run in open class. That's not to say an alternative premium model won't be introduced.

  7. Mines got thee full termi and a mwr air filter and the CJS mapping, totally transforms the bike :upyeah:

  8. yeah I know what your saying, I love mine but Ducati have ticked all the lacking boxes on the new one for me, I'll test ride the new on and go from there I think.

  9. Ducati response 2

    Dear Mr. Green,

With reference to your request, I shall inform you that the new model range has just been presented at EICMA and therefore the new Multistrada models are the ones that you can see on www.ducatiuk.com and they are all characterised by the new DVT engine. i shall remind you also that we cannot provide our Customers with information on the future release of new models.

We kindly invite you to keep updated on the Ducati new release through our official web site and specialized magazines.

    I remain at your disposal.

    Kindest regards,

  12. I'm sorry I missed the part of the forum rules saying we all had to post perfectly, it must be nice being as clever as you

  13. There isn't a need to provide the PP or equivalent day one as the new bike will pick up sales and Ducati figure some of even these new sales will upgrade to a PP special in a year if they produce one.

I'm not sure what percentage of sales the PP is with the current model, certainly it carries a premium but for me it was worth the additional over the S for bits I wanted and wouldn't justify usually. The matte carbon is very good and the overall setup of the PP is a decent looking machine for an MTS in my world and gives the right balance of desirability and practicality.

If the PP only represents say 5% of sales then leaving it a year makes sense, if the PP is say 20% then Ducati know there is a swathe of potential customers waiting on that model equivalent and it would certainly accelerate the process to provide one. With the Panigale and SUperbikes before, the specials are drip fed after the launch and this will be no different.

I'd bet the PP is a 2016 bike that means the MTS is still fresh with a new model at the bike shows in autumn 2015.

  14. Agreed...I think the base model sold even less than the PP.
When we had 40 odd together there was only one base model and about 6 PP.

  15. Clear to where? ;)

  16. I'm sorry my education is not up to the standards of others, I struggled at school yes, but really I came here to talk about our Ducati's with like minded people not get a fkin English lesson so really I don't give a shit.
Nothing personal just my stance on it.

  17. So is the dvt and new goodies destined for the PP next year or not?!

  18. Who knows seems to be the answer, just got to wait and see I suppose, bit of a pain if you want to change and want the PP though. I'm thinking now of sticking with mine for next year then see what's released for 2016.

  19. Just a bit of banter ... sense of humour bypass? Though I'm pleased you think I'm clever ... bit like winning praise for knowing there is a difference between a GS and an MTS!
