Heres one to get stuck into.... Motorcyclist stopped by mounted policeman after Square Mile wheelie | Daily Mail Online
so that's what you call a stern ticking off?, that wasn't even a slight slap on the wrist, up[ hear that would off been a ban, no messing.
Haha this made me laugh. I actually thought it was well dealt with as well by the officer considering that he wasn't a traffic cop. Enough to make the guy shit himself and consider himself very lucky to get away with it.
yup - we can dine out for weeks on this one....! incredibly lucky to get away with that - bang to rights as they say....
Seriously - you cant win no matter which way you cut it....it a case of whats acceptable and where - personally I wouldn't have pulled that stunt in the surroundings but the nice long road kinda lent itself to it....if he'd have pulled the same move on the mountain section tt week no one would have batted an eyelid/at 60 there'd be people leaving him in the dust....if the cop hadn't have been there then...meh - so what....but he was...im really not sure where im going with this....
It's a funny subject, especially as so many people dissaprove of the general hooliganism of being on one wheel. I find that in life in general when I'm presented with an option of being on one wheel or on two then it's definately more fun on one wheel and you learn loads about throttle control and other such grown up stuff by doing it.
yes agreed. Ive never been much good at it with my RSV4 - I find racing bikes too long so its all or nothing....hyper is easier at speed....went past fowlers last week going up towards the 3 lamps and lifted off on the hump in the road and held it half way up ( a good hundred yards or so) which was pretty good for me....otherwise im shit at it....
Some people are just as safe on one wheel as on two, some are just plain dangerous like me :Nailbiting:
I think I have to say the easiest motorbike ive owned to wheelie was my TDR250 - I could actually get to the point where I could change gear mid wheelie....but that was a long time ago... I know it sounds weird but the easiest pushbike ive ever been able to wheelie was a Raleigh Twenty (with the shopping basket on the front) - never had to put it down - could go round corners as well!
Thats pretty awesome, I practice a lot on my R1 so that I'm not abusing the Panigale. I can keep them up there for quite a long time but I've not managed to change gear yet. I'm considering sticking some stunt bars on it so I can really practice it up at balance point. It gets a bit hot when I'm doing it slowly dropping the clutch so maybe need an oil cooler or something like that as well.
whenever I try on the RSV4 it goes too high...and then end up slamming it down - so don't do that anymore as I cant afford to strip and service the forks at the moment..however now I know the sweet spot outside fowlers I might have a go on the hyper a bit sooner...
The Hypermotards look amazing fun. I love the Nicky Hayden video, he looks like he's having the most fun of anyone in the universe!
They are - not fast in a straight line, mines dyno'd, decat'd, termi tailpipe, ohlins on the rear (1100Evo) a couple of months ago on the straight's to work a zx10 left me standing but, as soon as we hit the roundabouts I reeled him back in again, got past him, back out on the dual carriageway and then he's history...times like that I wish id taken the rsv4 out....grrr..
had one in front of me on the way home from work last month. The Panigale is surprisingly useful in traffic as it can fit through tiny gaps when the mirrors are folded in that the Hypers wide bars couldn't get through. Still he looked like he was having a lot more fun than I was!
