1200 Termi System/decat Pipe & Shorty

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by tenbellys, Oct 13, 2014.

  1. OK yet another multi exhaust thread . WANT a termi system for my 2010 machine costs new are simply daft SO. I have a termi shorty on the bike atm can i get a decat pipe that will marry with this and employ a nice man to map it . Worrys start with noise (not really) but more importantly will a after market map void warranty and chances of renewing warranty .

  2. I have the short termi, with a Leo Vince Decat pipe. Had it mapped at CJS and it has transformed the bike. It has made it much louder . Can't help with the Warrenty though

  3. On a 2010 machine you'll be out of manufacturers warranty (including the optional third year). Any 3rd party warranty will depend on individual T&Cs

  4. yeah i got the warranty as it came from the dealer with full history . im under dealer (advice) illusion i can purchase a yearly warranty if i continue dealer services. have real concerns about mapping a OE ecu for the above warranty future issues if applicable .

  5. By the time you have purchased your decat had a remap you wont be far off the price of a Termi system price(second hand systems come up quite regular),sell your Termi stubby also,no warranty issues then.

  6. Urban myth. You wont get any warranty issues with a third party exhaust. You will also have a custom map rather than a generic one. I still don't get why people think Termi is the holy grail on these bikes. I know looks are subjective, but it's fugly and outdated IMO.

  7. The full termis is as loud as the leo vince .
Fitting in the dB killers takes a couple of minutes and makes it more acceptable, but no where near as quite as standard.
The custom map transforms the 2010-2012 bike (Leo Vince complete system)...151bhp at rear wheel.
Not had my 2013 custom mapped yet, but will publish on here once its complete.
I'm going the termis route this time as Leo Vince are no longer making an exhaust and I don't like the others.

  8. Fitted a Termi end can to my 2013 Multi today and I think it sounds quieter?
The misses said it kept her foot warm!

  9. I may have a full Termi system for sale soon maybe! I have upgraded from a 2010 bike to a skyhook but I haven't decided what to do the full system, comes complete with ECU and filter if I decide to sell.

  10. just acquired a full system just had to bite the bullet ..made such a difference to the bike its staggering really can't bring myself to install the DB killer lol

  11. OK, so ive got a Leo Vince decat on its way, and already got the Termi carbon slip on.. Question... will I need to remap, or will the ECU get used to the increased airflow?

  12. had full system installed after much deliberation on my 2010 a year or so ago. secondhand it should be around 500-700 quid, especially if you offer your stubby in return to user if he's selling bike as makes it more attractive.

fitted it myself - do it properly and remove cable for valve! and care about header screws...plenty of info online.

been riding without baffle all the while, no issues, even passed MOT.

amazing performance and sound, plus like the dash to say "mts racing" on startup.

(cat and other options all seem to come up to same price in the end but for an inferior end result)

  13. Or you could fit the QD exhaust system... Arguably the best exhaust for the Multi... As @Boomer and @MJW61 will testify. It runs great from the stock fuelling, although you can of course make more gains by getting s full custom map done (e.g. by CJS).

    Depends what you want really...

  14. You need the correct one for the twin spark, it has a USB upgrade stick with a special plug that attaches under the seat somewhere. The older one had a whole new ECU. List is just under £1800, recently ebay has some for £1300'ish.
You get a whole decat pipe, new front header (you use the stock rear one , as its only an inch or so long).
End can (long), removable baffle, new hi-flow air filter and a custom rear pillion foot hanger.
I paid circa £1100 second hand, not sure exactly as loads of cash changed hands quickly for loads of bits I wanted. Then £133 for a ceramic finish.

  15. Last few I've seen go on the forums and ebay have sold for closer to £1k (including mine)

  16. I'd agree with that... Full Termi and QDs are very similar in price. New, anywhere between £1500-1800, depending on the deal you can get, used, £900-1100 ish... I've put my QD on here for £900 to give it a good home.

  17. I'd of had them if I didn't already have the termis....

  18. OK, so if I got for the full Termi for the PP @AirConTechnical then a couple of questions:

Could I still use the Termi stubby and or would that be silly loud, I like the stubby.
Does the replacement exhaust hanger come in black as the PP is all black back everywhere.

I am well aware I can search for this info but I know you will have researched the arse out of it.
