No reply to me yet either :Bawling: I'm guessing the seller is just hoping to baffle someone new to the brand. If only they'd not put the 'R' spec bit in the title I doubt there'd be a issue would there? Ho hum, I'll give him another day then start playing him up some more. :Asshat:
I think you are giving him too much credit for trying to baffle the unwary - the guy himself hasn't a clue what he is selling.
I actually think he knows exactly what he is selling as in not an R or bike close to it. He bought a Ducati. He then started modding in as he dropped it or cause he wanted to. Spent lots of money on silly things and now wants his money back hoping to sting someone. He knows it is now to close to an R I just do not think he knows how far it is off. I would say in his mind an R is just ohlins and more BHP (kind off like jap one off editions of bikes) but we know it is more then that.
In fairness though, motorcycle brands, brand a bike as such. When I see the word 'Replica' I see it as that, an exact as carbon copy of a race bike, but wasn't the actual race bike if you get what I mean...so needs to include everything...and not just a Rizla spray job with free aftermarket can, d.b. screen and a commemorative plaque. 1997 916 Foggy Rep anyone?...has mirrors, headlights, turn signals...even uses a key to start, yours for only 5k.
My 04 plate 999S has the deep sump motor, and as far as I am aware all 999S's and 'R's had this from the beginning, from 2005 all 999's with red frame and black swinger had deep sumps.
