it is mate, your in a catch 22. you need your pain killers i knows it. just be aware of the side effects. you might not think it but you is lucky, you have some good mates on here that will listen all day. keep at it, i know a few that have had new hips done. it aint easy.
Yes Loz.That was one of the first prescriptions I was given a few years ago.Wasn't any good and I was put on Amitryptiline-that gave me the horrors and was terrible.I then did my own research and found Pregabilin. This helps me sleep at night and helps with some of the pain-the Tramadol is only a recent addition given to me post hip surgery.I found it helped with my Fibro pains and am now on prescription for it.Having been ill now for almost 4 years I will try anything within reason and with my doctors approval. We are at the stage now where I know more about my problem than my doctor. However there is no cure and no one treatment or combination works for everyone-very much a poke and hope for all in the same boat.
I have some miserable days with my hip but I think by comparison, they're not much compared to yours, Merv. Glad you are finding things that help and things you can try. Temazepam? Diazepam? How do these affect you? Sorry, getting really nosy here, you don't have to respond, of course. So what's the downside, DB? That'll be the fried cheese and ham sandwiches doing that, fin!
@Ducbird i know it's just that every body hates me. oh shit there's snakes coming out of the light switches Arrgg there coming to take me away aww feck.
You be as nosey as you like Loz.Sorry you are having a bad time with your hip,is it repairable?I do so hope you can get some relief. The drugs you mentioned do not work for me,thanks for the suggestion. No medication is specifically aimed at us Fibro sufferers-we get by on meds which have been developed for other conditions. More research takes place in America-even they don't know the answer.
I just hope it's only a matter of (a short) time before they sort something workable for you, Merv. I'm OK, too early for me to be looking at joint-resurfacing or a replacement. That reminds me, I must phone the surgery for my x-ray results. That's three times I forgotten to to that this week (and they tell me I'm not senile enough for a hip replacement LOL).
spent £35 on rodent eradification equipment and have just installed in loft - there's enough poison up there to kill a small horse and, as I type he/she has just checked in - hope this works.
Good luck, Chris and good hunting ... although I missed the point when you discovered it was a small horse up there. Explains the noises though, I guess.
Thankyou for your kind words. They don't like to do hip work if you are too young.I saw my x-ray earlier this week showing my new metalwork.I am gobsmacked at whaat they have done.I think my senility started years ago.
